MWF World Tag Team Title (w/Mike Speedo) 7/11/89 - 5/13/90
(defeated Bobo Bravo and Brother Perfect)

Greatest Match: May 30, 1998 vs. Mike Speedo. Won the MWF World Heavyweight title from his own brother Mike Speedo although in a match fraught with controversy not the least of which being the anti-MWF jackal special referee New World Alliance founder Rugged Ralph counting the title-changing pinfall. ("Controversy controversy controversy. Who the f* cares?!? Wrestling matches end in a pinfall....I scored it...so that made me the champion. Simple as that, plebians").

Favorite Match: February 23, 2002 vs. Carnage at the Newport Elk's Lodge in 1st round of 2002 MWF World title tournament. Although the final result of the match was a pinfall victory for Carnage, Dr. Destruction really put his signature on this brutal 1-on-1 ladder match. Actually thinking Carnage would not be courageous enough to face him, Dr. Destruction demanded Carnage lie down for him and let him have a bye in the tourney.  Carnage humored his opponent but reversed the cover into a single- leg crab.  Carnage went on to pummel Dr. Destruction until Destruction bailed out and went back to the dressing room.  Destruction came back thru the back door of the Elks Lodge and resumed the match.  Dominating his opponent for the early goings of the match, including hitting his thunderstruck tigerbomb on Carnage onto a ladder, Destruction miscalculated and was the victim of a ladder-enhanced Carnage van terminator dropkick off the top of the ladder.  ("Bah.  I was not beaten.  Carnage used a chair in front of my face to win.  Wasn't this a ladder match?  I believe he cheated.  Winning has always been secondary to me, though. I went in there looking for a fight, and Carnage delivered.   I enjoyed this match as the idiot MWF fans booed me and cheered this bum's every move.  Crowd involvement, intense hard hitting action, and an innovative finish.  How much more could a fan ask for?  Plus, Carnage went on and beat Mad Dog for the world title with a flying bodypress - a move that I kicked out of during this match.  I am the uncrowned world champion.")

Toughest Opponent: Bobo Bravado. No other competitor brought as much to the table overall as the 6'4" Bravado. With a killer instinct that rivaled Destruction's, Bobo also possessed a tremendous wrestling arsenal, astounding speed for a big man, and a toughness and physicality that always took Dr. Destruction to the limit of his pain threshold whenever the two tangled. ("Bobo Bravado at his best was a killing machine.  Basically, fighting Bobo meant fighting a bigger, faster, stronger version of ME.  Only my ability to withstand greater amounts of punishment was enough to turn the tide - sometimes.  No victory I ever had over him was EVER easy, the cocky prick.")

Most Hated Opponent: MWF President Fred Travalenee/ MWF Commissioners Rugged Ralph and Fiend. Believes the various bookers and matchmakers are the reason for the decline of pro-wrestling over the years. No beating he endures nor defeats suffered can approach the frustration that he feels because he despises the fact that these men control it all. They can make or break a wrestler's career and Destruction doesn't like it one bit. ("You work hard, pay your dues, do your job(s), dedicate your career to an organization, and by all rights you should achieve a modicum of success, respect, and dignity. Not have the Wizard of Oz pull the carpet out from under you because you're not one of his favorites. His favorite wrestlers will never get shortcuts going thru me.")

Finishing Manuever: Doctor-Bomb. Perfected his version of the Michinoku driver at BattleBowl '97 which earned him a tag-team victory against Juicer Jeremy. Picks his opponent up into a body-slam position so that the opponent is vertical, then falls to a sitting position driving the opponent's neck and upper back into the canvas. ("This is an extremely painful manuever. I LOVE using it! Who wants to end a match with it? I use it mainly to see my opponents writhing in agony!!").
Favorite Manuever: Thunderstruck double-arm choke tigerbomb.  Dr. Destruction grabs the opponent by the throat, lifts him vertically, then sits out causing the victim to crash back-first into the canvas into a pinning predicament.  ("When sold by the proper opponent, it is a thing of beauty.")

Scouting Report

==Strengths==
: Ability to absorb punishment.
Will take 3 blows to land 1. Possesses a Never-Say-Die attitude, and will keep going no matter what's thrown at him. Resilient. Arguably, one of the, if not THE preeminent bump taker in the history of the MWF.
: Focused.
Doctor D knows exactly who he is and what he wants to do.
: Innovator of Aggression.
Always interested in learning and developing new manuevers, particularly ones that involve hardcore weapons of pain. Won't rest on past laurels.  Has come up with innovative spots thruout his career.
: Heckled Excessively by Fans.
When Dr. Destruction hears the snide comments and disrespectful insults hurled his way, this only inspires him to step up his game several notches.  Loves being told he "can't" do something by "experts".

==Weaknesses==
: Masochist.
Thrives on pain. Dares opponents to "give him their best shot".  This can and has been costly for him injury-wise.
: Brawling Propensity.
An opponent can easily frustrate him by sticking to scientific wrestling. He prefers high-impact manuevers and brawling tactics.
: Blind Hatred.
When wrestling or feuding with someone he absolutely HATES, Doctor D. has a large tendency to make tactical errors. Wants to destroy them so much, he can be distracted from the task at hand.:
: Reduced Endurance.
Dr. Destruction's has adopted a "hit-'em-hard-and-hit-'em-fast" ring style in recent months which drains his enery reserves early. Sometimes this leaves him sapped of strength when attempting some of his more high-impact power manuevers as a match wears on.
: Injury-Wracked.
In the Doc's haste to come back from reconstructive ACL knee surgery, the body parts he trusted to compensate for the right knee began to wear down as well and has caused him problems when in the ring.

Career Profile

Dr. Destruction first entered the MWF in the spring of 1989. Billed in his try-out match originally as War Monger, Dr. D. also competed as Chainsaw with "Bad Brother" Spike(Mike Speedo) before debuting as Dr. Destruction later that year ("Even back then, the MWF suits didn't have a clue about what to do with legitimate wrestling talent"). Along with his real-life brother Mike Speedo, competed as the Junior Varsity Club for only a few months before becoming tag team champions by defeating the veteran duo of Brother Perfect and Bobo Bravo ("We always knew what the other was thinking - we became the greatest brother tag team in the history of pro wrestling").

Was an entrant in the 1990 King Of The Ring tournament that crowned the MWF's first World Heavyweight Champion. Defeated Rugged Rich by countout in the first round of that prestigious tournament. ("The little coward ran away!"). Was eliminated from the tournament when his tag-team championship partner Mike Speedo interfered in his 2nd round match against Brett Krueger prompting a disqualification ("Speedo was merely trying to alert the referee of the loaded elbow pad that Brett Krueger had employed when he flying forearmed me. Before Speedo jumped in the ring, I was about to kick out. I was not defeated, thus Krueger realized what Rugged Rich found out : that 'he couldn't beat half of me even if the other half of me were helping him'"). Held onto the tag team titles thru the next major MWF ppv, the 1990 Iron Man tournament ("Chewed thru the tag competition like a hot knife thru butter, DADDY. The Bate-whackers couldn't beat us, the Machines couldn't beat us....The Hacksaws were too afraid of us...."). Got a taste of intense singles competition during the Iron Man tournament. ("It was here I first found myself tiring of the tag-team division.") Faced a variety of opponents including Bonecrusher Bob, his very own tag-team partner Mike Speedo and reigning MWF World Champion Bobo Bravo. ("Tough opponents, all, with completely different styles."). Obtained the most significant pinfall victory of his career by pinning Bobo Bravo when Speedo knocked Bravo's foot away from the ropes that would have broken up the pin attempt ("I guess he should have kicked out then, huh? Tough sh*t"). Lost the tag team titles to Brett Krueger and Dream Warrior mystery partner Brother Friend ("They beat us [Speedo] right in the middle of the ring. Hey, it happens"). Shortly thereafter, turned on his brother Mike Speedo in a handicap 6-man match ("I guess you could say that officially ended my tag-team career"). Was beaten by Speedo in a grudge match in part due to botched interference from Bonecrusher Bob ("Bonecrusher stuck his nose in where it didn't belong"). Speedo and Destruction reconciled their differences after the match ("Look at the guy. How could anyone stay mad at him?"). Became embroiled in a feud with Bonecrusher Bob that culminated at the infamous Fright Night card TV title tournament as Dr. Destruction was pinned by the Bonecrusher in the semi-finals of that tourney ("Wrestling him back then made me a better singles wrestler. The Bonecrusher had a rep for being too stiff in the ring, but I didn't care about that stuff.  If that's his style, then that's his style.  I myself am no shrinking violet.  I would do it all over again.")

When MWF World tag-team titlist Brett Krueger retired allegedly due to Aids, the MWF Tag titles were vacated, and 2 tag-teams : Speedo/Destruction and the Coalition - General Nuisance/Private Parts were named top contenders to the belts and wrestled each other in a match to determine the new MWF World Tag Team Champions - a match won by the Coalition ("At this point, I had zero interest in tag-teaming, but the monkey-boy MWF President named Speedo and I top contenders anyway. Mike Speedo was also suffering from a severe case of jobberitis of the shoulders at that point in his career as he was spending a lot of his time training new MWF superstars such as Masa Sushi and was pinned handily by the General."). Competed next in the second MWF King of the Ring tourney; received a bye in the first round, ("MWF was really scraping bottom at the time for talent. They even brought back first-ever MWF opening jabroni match wrestler Toby Avia to compete in it"), pinned Mr. Hiamoto in the second round, but lost to Brett Krueger via disqualification in the semi's after striking the referee ("Let's just say I vehemently disagreed with a last minute booking decision but being the MWF professional that I am, wrestled the match anyway. Whatever. Suffice to say that when a wrestler wins a tournament by forfeit, there's something REAL wrong. It was right here I realized the MWF was in need of a MAJOR overhaul").

Was signed to square off against old nemesis Bonecrusher Bob in a falls-count-anywhere match at Wrestlemania 1995. Earlier in that card, suffered a near career-threatening back injury at the hands of Bobo Bravo. Despite this, still wrestled but ultimately lost to Bonecrusher Bob in one of the featured encounters of that event. ("I was inspired by the hardcore wrestling of ECW - in my honest opinion a federation that was head-and-shoulders above the WCW, WWF, and even the MWF - was coming into their own at the time. Before MWF WrestleMania, my old pal Tommy Dreamer invited me backstage to watch an ECW event and I was blown away by the hardcore dedication of its athletes AND promoters. I immediately made my own plans to screw MWF 'tradition' and book my match with Bonecrusher Bob under ECW style, anything-goes rules. Tables, frying pans, anything we could dish out carnage with we used in that match. It wasn't so much the weapons that I liked using, more the do-anything-to-win philosophy without having to worry about DQ's or countouts.  But that was just the beginning, daddy!").

1997

Along with Mike Speedo, was attacked by Rugged Ralph and Bobo Bravado when the New World Alliance first appeared. Feeling the entire concept of the NWA was a shortcut to remain top stars in the MWF, formed the Majority Of Superiority ("The MOS are the future superstars of wrestling. Right now they're paying their dues while they perfect their craft. They will be the best because they take no shortcuts. Consider the MOS an investment in the future"), wrestlers that, according to him, feel that those who display hard work, wrestling talent and dedication to wrestling should be at the top of the federation ("as opposed to primadonnas, clowns, and stand-up comics that currently pollute professional wrestling"). In response to the NWA threat, Dr. Destruction, along with the top MWF superstars MWF Champ Brother Friend, Brett Krueger, and Mike Speedo put aside their differences to combat the threat to the MWF. ("If only we had stayed united..."). Engaged in a "war of words" with Brett Krueger prior to the 1997 PPV season due to differences of opinion between the 2 superstars on the seriousness of the NWA threat. ("I wanted to rip heir heads off, but he started whining about MWF World title shots. It was clear to me he was on his own road to ruin. As for me, I had just declared all-out war against the NWA").

Received his very first ppv MWF World title match against the reigning champion Brother Friend at Middletown Massacre 2 ("A fight to the finish the way it oughtta be"). Was pinned in this match after allowing Brett Krueger to distract him ("I was a little upset at the time. Everybody was against me that day, even arrogant newcomer punk Double-7 took a cheap shot"). Was challenged by Double-7 Chris Simmons in a match that same day but this time emerged victorious by pinning Simmons ("He couldn't beat me that day, and he'll NEVER beat me.").

Received a United States title match with the NWA's Rugged Ralph at Summer Showdown. ("Here was my chance to shut the NWA's collective mouth before their reign of terror could even begin, but I blew it.") When Dr. Destruction had Rugged Ralph set up for a top rope manuever,Brother Friend appeared out of nowhere and pushed him off the top rope thru a ringside table for the academic 3-count ("What the hell was THIS guy's problem?!?! I could've smashed the NWA for good!"). Won a tables and ladders match between himself, Brother Friend and the NWA's Bobo Bravado by pinning first Brother Friend, then Bravado. ("This was probably the sweetest victory of my career up to that point. I beat the 2 former MWF World champs in an anything-goes match...but then I got punked"). The intentions of Brother Friend were revealed, however, when he turned against the MWF at the conclusion of this match as he became Brother Fiend and joined the NWA's post-match attack on Dr. Destruction. ("That REALLY kicked our feud into high gear").

Was matched against the NWA's Bobo Bravado in the first round of the 3rd King of the Ring spectacular in 1997 ("I had the chance to advance in the KOTR by dishing out a beating to the NWA's Bobo Bravado? I thought it had to be Christmas!)" Was pinned, however, by Bravado following an assist from Brother Fiend ("Even though I got beat, I pulled out all the stops in one of my favorite matches of my career.  THAT'S what wrestlers should strive for, not whether or not they win every match."). After being eliminated from KOTR competition, came down and interfered in the Rugged Ralph-Brother Fiend match arguably costing Brother Fiend the match ("Enough was enough. To all things, an ending, Brother Fiend.")

Tired of the NWA, Dr. Destruction offered a bounty on the head of Rugged Ralph ("Apart from Double-7 and myself, nobody in the MWF was doing a god-damned thing about those degenerates. So I put the $100,000 bounty on Rugged Ralph to appeal to the money-grubbing greed side of the MWF cowards.")

At MWF WrestleMania 1997, participated in 2 featured events : a singles match against arch-rival Brother Fiend in a Lumberjacks-With-Straps match and a 6-man match teaming with the Coalition against the NWA team of Fiend/Ralph/Bravado where the loser of the fall must retire. Was pinned in the Lumberjack match by Fiend and actually shook his enemy's hand afterwards ("Ya gotta ask yourself, though...what did I care about the most...losing 1 match or being forced to retire?"). At the climax of the 6-man match, appeared to turn on his partner Private Parts. ("He knew going in it would be all-out war.") Tore off his Dr. Destruction t-shirt and revealed an NWA t-shirt underneath. Gave Brother Fiend the briefcase containing the $100,000 bounty to attack Private Parts to end his career, but while Fiend had the briefcase raised, dropkicked it into Fiend's face allowing Destruction to score the pinfall ending the career of Brother Fiend. After this, Dr. D tore off that NWA t-shirt revealing an "NWA for Life-Less" T-shirt solidifying his allegiance to the MWF ("Even though I retired Brother Fiend, something just did not feel right about it. He was never one of the MWF disgraces I was intent on destroying").

Was voted Most Improved Wrestler of the Year by the fans of the MWF in the year-end MWF Awards. ("One can never stop trying to improve, but 1997 was the year I helped redefine the MWF. Dr. Destruction will be forgotten some day, but as long as the hardcore spirit I bring to the table lives on, then that gives me satisfaction, not personal glory.")

1998

Participated next at the 1998 Spring Fling event earning a United States title shot at recent NWA recruit Mountain of Love ("He was the only member of the punk-and-black attack that I had not yet terrorized. He demanded the match with me"). Suffered a serious neck injury after the Mountain administered his finishing manuever - the Death Valley Driver - onto a ladder that Dr. Destruction had brought into the ring. Following the pinfall, Dr. Destruction was unable to move for several minutes and required medical attention. ("Gotta admit, he proved he was more than a Lex Luger wanna-be. It was to be some time before I got my hands on the Mountain for the final time, but then again, I've always believed that 'Revenge is a dish best served cold'"). Though forced to wear a neck-brace, still wrestled in the main event Elimination Confrontation to decide the new MWF World Champion ("I felt like crap, but no steroid-suckin' pumpkin head was gonna cheat me out of a chance at the MWF World title gold"). Was pinned by the returning Brother Fiend who had feigned MWF allegiance to be able to be reinstated by MWF President Travalenee ("I retired Brother Fiend...but Fred Travalenee reinstates him cuz he crosses his heart he'll fight for the MWF. THAT was the last damn straw. It became crystal clear to me I was fighting the wrong opponents for months. Travalenee dissed the hard work accomplished by me, in retiring Fiend, so he's just gonna have to take the consequences.") Pinned Double-7 to earn a MWF World Title shot at World Champion brother Mike Speedo. ("Double-7's a great wrestler, I'll give the devil his due, I'm just too hardcore for him to handle. AGAIN I beat him for the 1-2-3.") Nearly gained a measure of revenge against the man that had injured his neck at Spring Fling, the Mountain of Love, when he teamed with D-7 against Brother Fiend and the Mountain. ("D-7 IS the most hardcore MWF wrestler besides myself, so even though he's a conceited prick, he was going to serve my purpose to get Fiend and Mountain together.") After Doctor-Bombing the Mountain of Love onto a steel chair and going for the cover, Double-7 leg-dropped a chair onto Destruction, stealing the victory ("I can't really blame him for that since I was just going to attack HIM after the match anyway. However, he cost me a receipt I owed the Mountain for breaking my neck, so D-7 got annihilated by me after the match for a REASON instead of just for fun.").

Finally, after having the rare distinction of wrestling every MWF pay-per-view event since 1990, Dr. Destruction defeated Mike Speedo to capture the MWF World title at Battlebowl 1998 with an apparent assist from "Outside-the-ring enforcer" for the match, the NWA's Rugged Ralph who administered a fast 3-count on Speedo after Dr. D fisherman-buster suplexed Speedo thru a table ("Rugged Ralph's cadence seemed slightly off, but you must remember, I had blasted Ralph with a chair earlier, so he could not have been in 100% control of his faculties until the final 3-count. Believe me, Speedo wouldn't have kicked out til 1000, so Ralph was FORCED to count to 3 and award me the belt - and he did by smashing me in my freakin' skull with it.  His fast count was just his pathetic way of causing controversy since I was about to cleanly defeat a man he never could beat in his career - Mike Speedo."). After the match, the duo of NWA's Brother Fiend and Bobo Bravado entered the ring and presented Dr. Destruction with an NWA shirt and left the ring for Dr. Destruction presumably to mull over the opportunity to join the New World Alliance...or at least the Fiend-Bravado side of that group ("The offer was on the table, I chose to think about it.") Started out his MWF World title reign in grand fashion by defending the MWF World title twice at Middletown Massacre 3; once on the free-for-all and once in the main event. ("My desire was to become the epitome of a fighting champion. Not for the glory of MWF President Fred Travalenee, though, for the fans. And oh yeah, for all my title defenses, no bs count-out or dq's.") In the free-for-all, called out the former champion Speedo and told him he would grant him a title re-match if he agreed to do things the "hardcore way" should he lose. Speedo accepted and attacked Dr. D, pounding the new champion from pillar to post. But Dr. D took advantage of a lull in the challenger's attack by pulling a roll of quarters out of his trunks, blasting Speedo with it, then Dr.-bombing Speedo onto a steel chair for his first successful defense of the belt. (Speedo took me to the limit. Though he lost the match, Speedo passed Dr. D's hardcore test. A test the biggest hypocrites and the punks with the biggest mouths will always fail. ") Later on the same card defeated NWA member Bobo Bravado in a match designed by the champ, a Table Death Match, where the first person who could not answer the 10-count after being put thru a table by their opponent would lose. ("That turned out to be pretty much my answer to the NWA; smashing Bravado in one of the year's most violent matches. Credit to Bravado, because I had NEVER been in so much pain in any match in my entire career. And I wouldn't want it any other way.")

Continued his domination of the MWF World title by successfully defending the belt against an impressive array of contenders. At August Armageddon, became the only MWF wrestler in history to pin Buford T. Vengeance in a singles ppv match due to a botched interference attempt by the Mountain of Love. ("There'll never be a non-dues-paying Goldberg in the MWF as long as Dr. Destruction's around.  Double-7 found that out and finally so did the dirty rat copper BT Vengeance.") On that same card, however, suffered what would become the sole blemish on his championship record; during a 6-man tag match pitting Destruction, Speedo and Franchise Brett Krueger against the NWA team of Brother Fiend, Mountain of Love and Buford T. Vengeance, was apparently inadvertently super-kicked by teammate Krueger and side-slammed for a 5-count by Vengeance. ("No biggie. It took my 'partner' and an opponent to beat me. That's strike 1, Krueger.") Rebounding from that loss, Dr. Destruction went on to defend the MWF belt in a variety of matches that included 2 3-way dances involving first Bravado & Mountain of Love, then Fiend & Mountain("The Mountain wouldn't leave me alone! I've had women that were less possessive."), newcomer Carnage ("he showed the cahones to answer my open contract challenge and give me a helluva fight. Definitely a future champion."), Brett Krueger ("Fate saw fit to save him that time with Fiend attacking him before the match started. I only needed 1 move to beat him. He got off extremely easy. I did not get a decent MWF World title workout on that event. Strike 2, Krueger."), and U.S. Champion Double-7. ("What can I say? The MWF World title was on the line every time, and I proved it's going to take hell itself to rip that belt off from around my waist.")

Faced perhaps his toughest challenge at WrestleMania '98 by defeating the man that had injured his neck earlier in the year, the Mountain of Love, in the first-ever Stretcher Match in MWF history ("He wanted to feel like a bigshot interfering in my matches all year, so I can only be a nice guy so long. I gave him his receipt from Spring Fling, and laid him out on the stretcher."), and ended the 1998 ppv season by successfully pinning Fiend in an Extreme Death Match at Season's Beatings 98 ("That was my first-ever singles victory over Fiend. Becoming MWF Champion made me realize how he was able to beat me when he held the title. It gives you that extra adrenaline and makes you dig down deep and pull things out from inside that you didn't know you had.")

1999

With the success of the MWF over the past several months, the MWF debuted its "Saturday Slugfest" series of events. Prior to that event, was invited by New World Alliance founder Rugged Ralph behind the scenes to join a new MWF faction - the HARD CORPS - it would consist of Ralph, Dr. Destruction's former arch-foe Mountain of Love, and Destruction himself.  ("Technically, I never disagreed with the concept of the NWA - a group dedicated to the overthrow of the MWF corporate establishment.  I just resented like hell that they lumped me into the "MWF Sucks" category when they started.  I formed the Majority Of Superiority to set an example for all the slackers and glory-hounds on the RIGHT way to conduct themselves in the MWF.  Unfortunately, even after the MOS was out there embodying the best combination of wrestling skill and showmanship, we still had the other MWF losers crying for title shots, guys only becoming interested in tag team wrestling when there was a tournament to crown new champions instead of paying their dues in the tag team trenches, guys who relied on gimmicks to camouflage their appalling lack of wrestling talent, etc.  So you SEE....I remained VERY anti-establishment and when I was asked NICELY to join, then OF COURSE I did.  At the time, the only problem I had was the personnel.  The men that Rugged Ralph assembled for the NWA were great choices, but Rugged Ralph himself as leader/ kingpin?  Something there just didn't fit right.  I was interested in aligning with the Mountain, since we spilled buckets of blood smashing each other - what could we do together as a unit?  So I decided to join and keep my eye on Rugged Ralph.")    Although not scheduled to wrestle at the television tapings, Dr. Destruction appeared at the conclusion of the Mountain of Love-Fiend MWF U.S. title match.  Seemingly disgusted with the manner in which Mountain of Love lost the U.S. title, ("oh maybe because the guy I retired in 1997 reinstated by President Moron had just had 3 other guys help him win the belt.") Dr. Destruction offered the Mountain of Love a MWF World title shot later on that very same day. ("Unlike other wrestlers I could name, the Mountain of Love was NOT afraid to get in the ring with Dr. Destruction - when he was challenging me for the MWF World title thruout 1998, despite the horrible beatings I administered to the man, he gave me my toughest matches, never ever gave up when I defeated him, and EARNED this return MWF title shot.")  Was interviewed by MWF President Fred Travalenee after granting Mountain of Love the title shot and began to go on about how nobody in the MWF could ever beat him when he was interrupted by the surprise appearance of MWF legend Bonecrusher Bob!!  ("I was a fan of Bonecrusher Bob in the old days of the MWF, but he was interrupting me from announcing the formation of the HARD CORPS!!").  Saying that he would love to wrestle Bonecrusher Bob but that Bob had not been an active competitor and therefore not earned the chance to challenge him, Bonecrusher attacked Destruction and this impromptu assault became an MWF World title match.   The two combatants fought all over the arena using a variety of foreign objects when finally, the man who had the MWF world title match with Destruction later on in the card, Mountain of Love, appeared at ringside with a garbage can lid.  Mountain of Love threw it in the direction of Bonecrusher Bob, but it was caught and used by Destruction who then promptly doctor-bombed Bonecrusher to successfully defend the MWF World title. ("I suppose some could say I cheated to win the match, but how can there be cheating in a no-rules match?  And for the record, let's just say the Bonecrusher was about 2 hours late for his chance to become MWF World Champion".)  Finally, in the main event of Saturday Slugfest, Dr. Destruction was in fact pinned by Mountain of Love and lost the MWF World title in a ladder match ("If only the Bonecrusher had not interfered in our plans that day to tire me out....now I will never know if I could have beaten the Mountain.  Oh well, the MWF World title's for insecure idiots anyway.  I was far more interested in defending it than I was in saying that I won it.")  Following the match, the Mountain of Love's former tag team ally Brett Krueger appeared to congratulate his partner on winning the MWF World title, but was turned on by Mountain of Love who, along with Destruction, and their new HARD CORPS partner Rugged Ralph, stomped down Krueger until Fiend and his Flock saved him by chasing the Hard Corps away to close out the event ("Ralph and I warned Mountain that the only reason he'd ever see Krueger was so that Brett could weasel his way into the main event of an MWF pay-per-view.  Where was he when the Mountain was getting his ass kicked earlier by the Flock? See?  We told him he'd show up to try and cozy up next to the MWF world champ if Mountain beat me, so he got exactly what he deserved.  Why, the quietest I'd ever heard Krueger was when Dr. Destruction was the reigning champ - a guy he knew he could never convincingly defeat in any kind of stipulation match (that I tend to prefer wrestling my title matches).  Now the Mountain finally woke up - and the HARD CORPS was born!").

With the Mountain of Love now the MWF World Champion, it appeared Dr. Destruction would take on the role of "enforcer" of the Hard Corps ("for a man to win the MWF title, they had to get thru me, so this would really separate the men from the boys.") keeping the MWF World title belt away from any potential challengers.  (".....leaving Rugged Ralph to handle all our mic work.")  Destruction and Rugged Ralph defeated the tag team of Fiend and Double-7 at MWF Spring Fling 1999, but also made their presence felt in the main event of that card in the 3-way MWF title match that pitted their comrade Mountain of Love against the Flock's Carnage and Brett Krueger.  With Rugged Ralph distracting Brett Krueger, Dr. D hit Krueger from behind to take him out of the match.  Destruction then pulled the referee out of the ring before Carnage could pin the Mountain letting the Mountain recover and hit the Death Valley Driver on an unconscious Krueger to retain the MWF title ("Dr. Destruction was a loner for a long time.  But as I have recently discovered, No Man is an Island.  The only thing that matters to me now is the integrity of professional wrestling.  And if Dr. Destruction must align himself with others to keep pieces of trash away from the MWF World title, then that is what I must do").

Along with Mountain of Love, took on the preliminary tag-team of Purple Justice & Purple Vengeance at Saturday Slugfest 2.  Quickly dispatched them and challenged any 3 MWF superstars to take on Destruction and Mountain in a 6-man match as without Rugged Ralph present, they would bring in the most hardcore partner they could find, a masked wrestler named Mr. Hardcore.  ("Rugged Ralph pulled a no-show, so we figured we'd let some jabronie have their brush with greatness that is the Hard Corps and be our partner.  Since Rugged Ralph was too busy, we picked up some loser that knew the powerslam and the flying clothesline, so we were guaranteed to have Ralph's side of the offense covered.") Lost the match to the tag-team of Brett Krueger, Carnage, and Double-7 Chris Simmons with Krueger getting the pin on Mountain of Love earning for himself as a bonus a MWF World title shot.  ("Have you ever seen some of the people that win gambling in Vegas?  It's possible for even a low-life freak to get lucky once in a while.  And besides that, Dr. Destruction was the legal man, not Mountain.  The day Krueger pins me is the day I take up knitting.  He was too terrified of me to be in the ring for more that a few seconds when I was tagged in.  So once again, we have incompetent referees in President Travalenee's pocket ensuring that his little heroes win all their matches.").

Perpetrated another atrocity at MWF BattleBowl 1999.  Having lost his earlier match with Carnage, and although banned from ringside during the main event, Dr. Destruction returned once again sans Rugged Ralph to interfere in the Mountain of Love - Brett Krueger MWF World title lumberjack match with lumberjacks hand-picked by Brett Krueger.  ("That right there was the biggest insult of all.  All of Brett Krueger's little jabronie buddies outside the ring but no one allowed to be there rooting for the Mountain!!").  Having disguised himself as one of Krueger's hand-picked lumberjacks, the masked wrestler called Crash Test Dummy, Dr. Destruction interrupted a Brett Krueger cover of the Mountain.  Krueger drop-kicked the ersatz Destruction-Dummy out of the ring but was the victim of another attack : the Flock's Fiend had also disguised himself as Sycho Analyst Sid and executed his finisher - the Backlash - allowing Mountain of Love to cover Krueger to retain the MWF belt.  ("Everybody in the MWF knows Krueger is the most despised man in the lockerroom, now I knew Fiend had something in common with us.  Once I interfered, though, Krueger was all done; he's a stuttering prick that could never have recovered and had the presence of mind to beat the Mountain after my appearance.  And where the hell was Rugged Ralph again?!?  Off in Hollywood making movies with his geriatric wrestling pals Hogan & Piper?!?  Once again, Dr. Destruction doing all the work fighting the good fight.").

At Saturday Slugfest 3, Destruction teamed with Rugged Ralph to take on the Flock members Carnage and DeathMask. During the match, Carnage and DeathMask secured an advantage on Rugged Ralph.  Carnage was about to throw powder into the eyes of Rugged Ralph to blind him, but Dr. Destruction managed to throw himself in front of the powder saving Rugged Ralph but being blinded himself.  Grasping for one of his opponents, Dr. Destruction lunged and grabbed Rugged Ralph by mistake and dr-bombed him allowing their opponents to pin Ralph to take the victory.  Destruction and Ralph then got into an argument but peace was restored by Mountain of Love who came down before the two came to blows. ("Rugged Ralph was a buffoon for letting himself get into that predicament.  Maybe he was thinking too much about Hollywood movie deals cuz his mind definitely wasn't on that match since I ended up carrying the whole thing myself.  I trust the Hard Corps with my life and I proved it by throwing myself in the line of fire - I took a bullet for Ralph - something I've failed to see him take for the Hard Corps - so he should have just gotten out of my god-damned way.")

The Mountain of Love's next MWF World title challenger for MWF Middletown Massacre became Carnage.  Since the Hard Corps had cost him the title at Spring Fling, Carnage demanded the match be a First Blood match.  Dr. Destruction did not believe that Carnage had proven himself to his satisfaction to face Mountain in a 1-on-1 match for the MWF title, therefore Destruction cited the fact that he had not received his own MWF World title rematch and made the match at 'Massacre a 3 way First Blood elimination match - once a competitor was busted open, that person would be eliminated from the match.  ("Nothing personal.  I have a certain degree of respect for Carnage, he will be probably be a fine MWF World Champion someday, but he should not get more than his fair share of title shots just because he's pals with long-time MWF superstar Fiend.  And I wasn't concerned at all about Mountain losing the belt.  My presence had absolutely no bearing on the outcome of the match.  It just made for a more exciting match for all the MWF's great fans.")  Destruction also vowed that he would show no favoritism for either Carnage nor his partner Mountain of Love.  From the opening moments of the match, it appeared as if Destruction would keep his word as he smashed a wooden crutch over the back of Mountain of Love and also went at it with Carnage.  However, when Carnage began to decisively take control of the match using his aerial manuevers to devastate both Hard Corps members, Destruction and Mountain then coordinated their efforts to eliminate Carnage.  After several minutes of double-teaming Carnage, Dr. Destruction held Carnage in place for Mountain to swing a steel chair at his head, but Carnage ducked and it was Destruction who was struck with the steel chair, busted open and eliminated from the match.  Destruction proved reluctant to leave once eliminated, however, as he remained to doctor-bomb Carnage thru a table from the second rope in an effort to help Mountain retain the belt.  Carnage's Flock partner Fiend, however, ALSO interfered in the match blasting Destruction with a chair, knocking out the referee and kicking a steel chair into the Mountain's skull forcing him to bleed.  ("Can you believe this guy interfering like that?  He had nothing at all to do with this match.")  Seeing the Mountain bleeding, Fiend left the ring.  Carnage followed up this attack with his superfly splash, but the referee was still unconscious.  Dr. Destruction then re-entered the match lacerating Carnage with a screw-driver finally causing him to bleed.  Destruction also washed any trace of blood away from the Mountain's forehead and when the referee revived, she saw Carnage bloodied and awarded the match to the Mountain of Love. ("Poor Mountain could not see, so I was wiping the blood and sweat from his eyes - unfortunately, I guess I was a little too thorough as it covered up his wound.  Oh well.  But was the Mountain busted open and bloodied by either myself or Carnage?  Of course not!!!  At least I was a participant in the match when I cracked open Carnage's forehead with that screw-driver.  I guess you could argue that I had been eliminated from the match, but THAT'S just splitting hairs.")

At Saturday Slugfest 4, the next challenger on the horizon for the Mountain of Love was longtime nemesis Double-7 Chris Simmons were he to be victorious in a #1 contender match against Dr. Destruction. ("Mr. Simmons had to defeat me - a feat he had never before accomplished - to face the MOL.  Would the man be able to take all I had to give him and achieve his boyhood dream?!!?").  In one of the most violent encounters of the year, Double-7 was the victim of Dr. Destruction's top-rope elbow smash as Destruction had laid a chair across his face to add to the impact.  The force of the blow deeply lacerated the mouth of Double-7, but he valiantly continued the match.  Seeing his opponent bloodied, Dr. Destruction attempted to permanently end the career of Simmons.  He placed Simmons in a seated position on the top rope, then with steel chair in hand, he ran from the opposite corner with the intention of bashing him in the skull and making him fall off the top rope to perhaps certain doom, but Simmons managed to savate kick the chair into the head of Destruction which he followed up with his Double-7 deathdrop to win the match!  ("I believe if any rational man had the chance to end the career of Mr. Simmons, they too would have done so.  Those horrible interviews....")  But MWF officials would not give Double-7 medical clearance to wrestle due to his facial injuries and was forced to bow out of the MWF title match that day.  ("So yet again, did Dr. Destruction really lose?  Or did he yet again preserve the sanctity of the MWF title by beating Double-7 up so bad he couldn't continue on to pursue that boyhood dream that I always puke when I hear about?  Now if he were not such a pretty boy concerned about his looks, he would have taken that, then got his ass into the ring to go for the gold.  But he just did not have that dedication to wrestling that the Hard Corps does.").

The next key event to take place occurred at MWF In Your Face 5 : Ride the Lightning.  Dr. Destruction and Mountain of Love ("and of course no Rugged Ralph to back us up") were signed to take on Fiend & Carnage in the MWF's first "Double Tables" match - the winning team would put both members of the opposing team thru tables.  After putting Carnage thru a table, the Flock rebounded putting both Destruction and Mountain of Love thru tables to take the match ("I requested the match have texas tornado rules - both members of each team in the ring at once - but that pink panty-wearing President had the match be "traditional" tag-team rules.  So basically, when Mountain and I demonstrated our superior tag-team coordination and beat the living hell out of Carnage, Fiend just waltzed into the ring without a tag and put me thru a table when I was climbing the top rope and had my back to him, then both Fiend and Carnage put Mountain thru a table.  Does anybody but me see how Travalenee hates the Hard Corps and does whatever he can to see that we fail?!?!")  Also in this match, Dr. Destruction executed a side Russian legsweep on Fiend onto a metal ladder but as Fiend hit the ladder, the back of Destruction's head hit the mat causing internal bleeding.  Destruction was able to finish the match but was unaware of how badly he was actually hurt as he was experiencing only slight headaches.

Without realizing the extent of his injuries, Dr. Destruction wrestled the MWF's inaugural U.K.-only pay-per-view Water Under The Bridge event in the main event 6-man tag team match involving his partners Mountain of Love & Rugged Ralph against the Flock - Fiend, Carnage, & DeathMask ("the MWF makes its first international tour so THEN Rugged Ralph decides to show up.").  Wrestled in typical Dr. Destruction form against his opponents ("I had been looking forward to the MWF's first U.K. tour, and at the time I did not want to let a minor headache stop me.") but during the match experienced dizzyness especially after delivering a doctor-bomb to Carnage.  Following the move, Dr. Destruction left the ring extremely dizzy.  At this point, the match reached its conclusion with the Flock once again coming out on top after Rugged Ralph tried blinding Carnage with powder as he had done weeks earlier to Destruction, but Rugged Ralph instead accidentally blinded the Mountain of Love.  ("Rugged Ralph's an idiot.  He just couldn't do anything right.  Again.  Normally if an individual tries his best, I won't condemn him, but Ralph acted like he didn't really care.")  The MOL executed the Death Valley Driver on Rugged Ralph by accident, enabling the Flock to capitalize and score the victory by pinning Ralph.  Following the match, with Destruction dizzy outside the ring, Rugged Ralph finally turned on Mountain of Love and hit his finisher the Eradicator on MOL and left the ring abandoning the Hard Corps. ("Me at my darkest hour and Rugged Ralph turns his back on us.").   Following this turn of event, Dr. Destruction passed out after the match.  British ambulance services promptly delivered him to a hospital where specialist Dr. Bob Ponovich performed a catscan revealing that Destruction had a blood clot on top of his brain which caused his seizure. ("Hospital food sucks.") The specialist also determined that Dr. Destruction now had a condition that made future blood clotting extremely likely should he continue to wrestle prolonged matches, thus Dr. Destruction decided that it was time to end his in-ring wrestling career. ("I'll miss beating people up a great deal, but would much rather have my health and can survive without being an active competitor.  With my career interrupted, my ultimate goals remained unfulfilled.")

While Dr. Destruction was out of commission, the MWF held its Saturday Slugfest 5 event.  Rugged Ralph challenged the Mountain of Love to a 6-man tag team match where neither he nor Ralph would know who their partners were.  So enfuriated was the MOL following Ralph's turn against the Hard Corps, he put his MWF World title on the line in the bout should anyone on Ralph's team beat him.  This proved the Mountain's undoing as Rugged Ralph somehow knew in advance that he would be teamed with the Reds, and convinced them to aid his beating Mountain.  With the help of the Reds, specifically with each Red holding a leg of the Mountain from outside the ring, Rugged Ralph covered the Mountain and pinned him to become the NEW MWF World Champion ("If Dr. Destruction had not been out of action, there's no way in HELL that would have ever happened.  Rugged Ralph is a piece of sh*t and I never should have let him stay a Hard Corps member.  And the coward didn't even have the guts to face him 1-on-1.  He had to hide in a 6-man match.  Rugged Ralph took everything the Hard Corps stands for, the In Your Face come get some mano-y-mano attitude, turned it sideways and stuck it right up our a$$es so he could take a shortcut to the MWF World title.  Rugged Ralph is gonna pay.  But before that happens, with my injury, Dr. Destruction has got to figure out a way to keep his MWF contributions going even if that means never wrestling in the ring again.")

At MWF Independence Day 1999, MWF President Fred Travalenee interviewed Dr. Destruction who confirmed the recent rumors of his sustaining a career-ending injury prior to the MWF U.K. ppv.  Having been diagnosed with a condition similar to that which ended the career of Jesse "the Body" Ventura - chronic blood clotting - Destruction revealed that with his wrestling career over, and his work he felt he had remaining still unfinished, he announced that since he could no longer physically compete, he stated the only thing he could do at this point to achieve his goals was to become....MWF President.  Following Destruction's departure, MWF President Fred Travalenee immediately ordered the MWF film crew to cut the cameras. ("I could smell Travalenee's bricks after he sh*t them.")

At the conclusion of the next MWF event, the first MWF Portugal show, MWF In Your Face 6 : Los Punlados, MWF referee Curious George graciously thanked the Lisbon Portugal crowd for coming out to watch the MWF for its debut show when he was attacked with a chair from behind by Dr. Destruction who ran into the ring from the crowd.  In front of the live Portuguese fans, Destruction took the microphone and noted how "President" Travalenee no-showed the Portugal event and how he did not care about his wrestlers or the paying fans, and that he, Dr. Destruction would soon be MWF President and challenged MWF President Fred Travalenee to a debate. ("If Travalenee doesn't care to be in attendance during an important MWF international event, what the hell does he care about?!?!  His mansion ?  His yacht?   His god-damned pedicure!?  It's time for an MWF President who will look out for the welfare of his employees and make long-term plans for the future of pro-wrestling in the MWF instead of his sports entertainment crap fad.")

Shocked at the embarassment brought about by this incident, but not wanting to lose face, MWF President Travalenee accepted Dr. Destruction's debate challenge.  Thus, at MWF Summer Showdown 1999, a debate was held between MWF President Fred Travalenee (w/bodyguard Sgt. Joe Black) and Dr. Destruction.  Just as it seemed Dr. Destruction had the full backing of the MWF fans in attendance as the debate reached its conclusion, Sgt Joe Black attacked Dr. Destruction from behind with his billy club and along with Travalenee stomped down Dr. Destruction until he was saved from further punishment by Sycho Analyst Sid & Gynecologist Gabe.  ("Knowing Travalenee was a back-stabbing gutter snake, I had my old pals from the Majority Of Superiority standing by.")  Frustrated by Sid & Gabe's save, Travalenee issued a challenge for a match : Travalenee would select a man to be his proxy in a match against a man selected by Dr. Destruction who would be his proxy.  If Dr. Destruction's proxy won, Dr. Destruction would become the new MWF President; if Travalenee's proxy won, Dr. Destruction would be forced to leave the MWF forever - a challenge accepted by Dr. Destruction. ("I knew his ego wouldn't allow him to be perceived as the loser in any way over me, so he made the match that's going to change history.  Now.....it's just a matter of time before everyone in the MWF gets their just desserts.")  Following the interview, a MWF U.S. title match was held - the champion Carnage defending his title against Bobo Bravado.  Late in the contest, Carnage had the upper hand as he drop-kicked Bravado off the ring apron to the floor.  With the referee attending to Bravado who claimed to have injured his leg as a result of that manuever, two men - one the Mountain of Love and the second a man wearing a black mask and wearing a Dr. Destruction t-shirt ran in to the ring and executed consecutive sit-down tombstone pile-drivers to Carnage ("And I must say, that fellow wearing the Dr. D t-shirt in particular executed a beautiful version of my Greetings from Ground Zero pile-driver.  I wonder if I'll ever find out who that could have been.  You see?  A great respected athlete such as myself is taken down by forces he cannot control and the men who have been out there following my career pay me such a wonderful tribute by causing chaos and devastation in my honor.  I was very touched.")  Following this heinous attack, both men left the ringside area allowing Bravado to easily cover Carnage and defeat him for the MWF U.S. title.  After the match, Carnage was stretchered out of MWF arena. "(Poor Carnage.  Sounds like a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.  I wonder who that masked man was - could he be forming a new stable with my old Hard Corps partner Mountain of Love?  And I wonder if they have any plans in store for the rest of the MWF?  When I become MWF president, they just might be a group I have to deal with in some way.")

The following event, MWF In Your Face 7 : Wrestlers in the Mist, another  MWF United States title match was held, this time Double-7 Chris Simmons pinning Bobo Bravado to become the N-E-W MWF U.S. Champion.   Double-7's victory celebration was short-lived, however, as Fiend, the masked man wearing a Dr. D t-shirt & Mountain of Love all came down to the ring and attacked Double-7 hitting him with their finishing manuevers the Backlash, Doctor-Bomb, and Death Valley Driver respectively.  Then in a token of victory, Bobo Bravado hit his own finisher on Simmons, the jack-hammer, and all 4 men left the ring together. ("Looks like the makings of a super-stable to me.  With Bravado holding the MWF U.S. title, all they would have had to do was get the MWF World belt off that back-stabber Ralph and they would hold a lot of power in the MWF.  Did I ever tell you how I almost joined Bravado and Fiend when they invited me to join their side of the NWA?  See, back then THEY too were tired of Rugged Ralph calling all the shots and....well, I digress.  Who WAS that masked man?").

At MWF In Your Face 8 : Countdown to Extinction, a 5-way elimination match was signed between MWF mid-card talent.  Shortly following the eliminations of 2 of the participants, Beach Blanket Bobby and Tupac Notsure, the 5-Way match was interrupted by Fiend, Mountain of Love & the man wearing a Dr. Destruction t-shirt who attacked the 3 remaining competitors. Mountain of Love executed his Death Valley Driver on Professor Hishitzu and forced the referee to make a 3-count on him. The Masked Man executed a "doctor-bomb" Michinoku driver on Terminator and also received a 3-count from the referee. Fiend executed his "backlash" back suplex-sidewalk slam on Captain Condom for yet another 3-count to end the match.  Following the match, the masked man with the Dr. Destruction t-shirt took the microphone and announced that a new 'Hard Core' group of wrestlers was on its way to the MWF - the Innovator of Brutality MOUNTAIN OF LOVE, the new Franchise of the MWF FIEND, as well as himself, MR. D.  ("It appears the masked man now has a name.  Since I was not in attendance at that event, I did watch a tape of the match.  Mr. D does a great doctor-bomb.  Some announcers are actually speculating that the masked man is actually me and my bid for the presidency a way to put supreme power into the hands of the new super-stable.  But Dr. Destruction has retired from the ring.  My injury is legitimate.  The only way for me to risk my life getting back into that ring would be to do anything possible to ensure that posers and disgraces do not take over professional wrestling in the MWF.  Sure, I can't stand MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph.  Sure, I can't stand the U.S. Champ Double-7.  Um.....great doctor-bomb by Mr. D.")

At MWF In Your Face 9 : Eye of the Hurricane, the mysterious Mr. D continued his brutal ways defeating Nightmare with a doctor-bomb following interference from Bobo Bravado and Mountain of Love.  Later on in the Tag Team Main Event to determine the #1 contender to MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph's world title, Mr. D was instrumental in ensuring that his team of Mountain of Love & Bobo Bravado came out on top over the team of Carnage and Double-7 Chris Simmons.  With interference by Mr. D, Mountain of Love succeeded in pinning Carnage after his Death Valley Driver and was guaranteed a return match against the man who had taken his MWF belt, Rugged Ralph.  ("Now hypothetically, if I WERE Mr. D, I would also do my damnedest to make sure nobody cut in line for MWF World title shots before the Mountain of Love.  Hypothetically.  You know?  I really like this Mr. D fellow.")

Finally, at MWF Wrestlemania 1999, the match for the Presidency of the MWF was contested.  MWF President Fred Travalenee's proxy Sergeant Joe Black faced Dr. Destruction's proxy.  As soon as MWF President Fred Travalenee and his proxy Black made their way down to ringside, Travalenee took the microphone and could not wait to see who Dr. Destruction had picked for his proxy.  Dr. Destruction then came down to ringside with his proxy Mr. D - a man wearing a mask and wearing an identical Dr. Destruction t-shirt as Destruction himself, and these 2 men were flanked by Mountain of Love and Fiend.  Dr. Destruction then took the microphone and boasted that he was so sure that Mr. D would defeat Sgt. Joe Black, that Destruction himself did not even need to be present at ringside.  But before Destruction left the ringside area, he told Mr. D that he had one final piece of advice to give him and they both disappeared back thru the MWF aisleway curtain.  Seconds later, Mr. D came back thru the curtain without Dr. Destruction.  Finally, after a match that saw both Mr. D's entourage Fiend and Moutain of Love and Black's entourage, Travalenee and Drill Sergeant Martin interfere to give their respective sides the advantage, Dr. Destruction's proxy Mr. D pinned Fred Travalenee's proxy Sergeant Joe Black when Mr. D executed a "doctor-bomb" michinoku driver on Black from the ring apron thru a ringside table.  Mr. D rolled Black into the ring and pinned him with 1 foot on his chest.  After the 3-count, Mr. D unmasked revealing he was in fact Dr. Destruction, and became the new MWF President on the spot.  ("Yes, Mr. D was Dr. Destruction the entire time.  Was I legitimately injured?  Yes.  Was my effectiveness in the ring limited due to the injury?  Yes.  But since I saw taking the reins of the MWF to be the single most important thing that I could possibly do in my post-injury career, was it worth the risk of permanent injury for the betterment of the sport?  YES.  My only regret was that I could not have continued to run roughshod over the MWF with the rest of the Hard Corps, get revenge on that NWA-hole Rugged Ralph, end the career of Double-7 Chris Simmons, and make Fred Travalenee resign from the MWF cause we drove him out.  In a way, my masquerade as Mr. D was my own personal dig against promoters in the MWF, WWF, and WCW.  Whether the fans liked or hated Dr. Destruction, they KNEW Mr. D was me.  It goes like this.......you can't put a mask or a gimmick on a wrestler and promote a wrestler as the greatest thing since sliced bread if they suck.  True fans of pro wrestling can ALWAYS tell if a wrestler is the real deal or not.  And, if you stick a talented wrestler with a horrible gimmick that has no chance of getting over, then that wrestler has been wasted.  A talented wrestler need only use his skills to get over to the true hardcore fans of wrestling.  When a wrestler brings action, excitement, and electricity to the ring, no mask can disguise it.  Of course I was Mr. D.")  Also at MWF Wrestlemania, Dr. Destruction personally appeared in Mountain of Love's corner during his return title match against the man who had taken his MWF World title, Rugged Ralph.  Mountain of Love came out of the falls-count-anywhere match victorious to regain the belt and became the MWF World Champion once again.  ("See?  What happens when the rematch happened?  New champ baby.  And as President, I was not above getting in a couple of cheap shots after the match to Ralph who had wasted everybody's time with his garbage for months.  With the title back in the hands of the Hard Corps.....I could begin my career as MWF President off on the right foot.")

As the new President of the MWF, Dr. Destruction allowed his Hard Corps stablemate Fiend to defend the MWF U.S. title that their partner Bobo Bravado had won from Double-7 Chris Simmons at MWF WrestleMania 1999.  Fiend was allowed to defend the title against Hard Corps enemy Rugged Ralph at MWF Season's Beatings 1999.  Fiend was successful and defeated the Rugged One. ("Rugged Ralph, consider your run as MWF World Champion a gift.  When the Hard Corps gets its revenge on you, you will need your wonderful memories of that brief time at the top to console you and try to get thru the eternal pain you will be feeling.").

At MWF Survivor Series, Dr. Destruction rechristened the MWF A.I.R. title that he had won from Sergeant Joe Black the MWF Hardcore title.  ("I beat Sgt. Black for the A.I.R. belt.  As soon as I inspected the MWF presidential offices, I found bags and bags of mail all clamoring for 1 thing.....the creation of the MWF Hardcore title.  Since former President Travalenee always hated hardcore anything-goes wrestling, of course there was never an officially sanctioned belt designed for that very purpose.  He, just like most other simpletons in professional wrestling and backyard wrestling believes hardcore wrestling is only about hitting opponents in the head with weapons.  Well that can be FUN, and I do take sadistic pleasure in seeing my opponents in pain, but to ME....that's NOT what "Hardcore" is all about.  Put 2 men in a ring fighting for their lives to win a title; high impact, aerial, stiff  wrestling is the heart of it and possibly complemented by hardcore "spots" like your tables/chairs, crutches, etc., prevalent in any federation,  and you finally have a clue as to what hardcore really is.  That's MY definition of hardcore, baby : Attitude without the BS, and not a weapons-fest.  But I digress.  Getting back to the title, well, since my health was on the upswing, I happened to be the reigning A.I.R. Champion, and I needed to make a decision on the status of the A.I.R. title, I decided that the A.I.R. belt become the MWF Hardcore title.  Much like ECW's world title.....Dr. Destruction threw down the dead horse of a title that the A.I.R. championship had become and transformed it into a REAL title.  It was not an easy decision to make, since there were many impressive A.I.R. champions, but with the recent addition of the MWF TV title some months ago, and the fact that virtually EVERY major MWF superstar has won the U.S. title, then that made plenty of MWF belts for contenders to pursue.  And for the first time in wrestling history, I did not need to hold a tournament to determine a new champion of a newly created title.....I would be the champ since I happened to be the titleholder.  For the FIRST and ONLY time on the MWF......a championship belt was created BY a wrestler - ME - to be fought for and won by OTHERS.  The way I see it.....let the federation find a flagship bearer to be the MWF World champion...the ones that have the big merchandise sales and receive the biggest pops......but winning the MWF Hardcore title means that you don't care about cow-towing to ANYBODY in the MWF or it's fans.  The MWF Hardcore title is a sign of respect by THE BOYS IN THE BACK that the champion deserves the honor for busting a$$ in the ring and that at any given time....the reigning MWF Hardcore Champion is one tough S.O.B to beat.").  Dr. Destruction gave the first MWF Hardcore title shot to Carnage.  As one might suspect would happen when Carnage meets Destruction, during the course of the match, Carnage placed Destruction on a table outside the ring, set up a ladder inside the ring, and leaped from the top of the ladder splashing Destruction thru the table leaving both men devastated.  The two combatants managed to make their way back into the ring where Destruction eventually came out on top following a doctor-bomb to retain the MWF Hardcore title.  Later in the main event, Destruction served as the referee for the last MWF match of 1999 - a match pitting MWF World Champion Mountain of Love against the Hard Corp's own member Bobo Bravado.  After a hard-fought contest, Mountain of Love successfully defended the MWF title by pinning Bravado with the death valley driver.  After the match, all Hard Corps members celebrated to close out 1999.  ("Normally, not one of us likes to brag or boast - well, maybe Bravado, and Mountain likes to pose - but after we all had given our all to get to the end of the millenium, we deserved our time to celebrate.  The year started with my being enemies with all 3 men, but when we all found out that the MWF could grow and be better than its ever been as a unit, then that's how we're going to write history in 2000.  The future is here.")

2000

Dr. Destruction began 2000 the reigning MWF Hardcore Champion.  Dr. Destruction obtained a singapore cane from ECW's  Justin Credible who acknowledged and belittled Destrtuction's MWF Hard Corps group in a video shoot interview (This video was met with mixed reviews from the MWF, but the way I see it, if anyone else had done it, it would have been the greatest event in MWF history.  How can you spend too much money on something you enjoy?  Anything good costs more than a $1").  Dr. Destruction now uses the singapore cane as his trademark weapon in the MWF.

At the first card of 2000 - MWF Saturday Slugfest 7 - participated in the WAR GAMES main event of the card.  The match was a 6-man tag team match where partners were drawn at random to compete against opponents drawn at random.  By the luck of the draw, Destruction was matched with one of his Hard Corps partners MWF World Champion Mountain of Love and the man Destruction had won the MWF Hardcore belt from (formerly the A.I.R. title) - Sergeant Joe Black against the team of Hard Corps enemies Carnage, Double-7 Chris Simmons, and Hard Corps member Fiend!  The real story of the match, however, turned out to be the special referee, the ex-Hard Corps member Rugged Ralph.  With Hard Corps members on all sides, Rugged Ralph called the match fairly until Carnage got in his face several times during the match.  The end of the match came when Carnage became so enfuriated by Rugged Ralph's slow counts of his pinfall attempts, this allowed a member of Destruction's team - Sergeant Joe Black to hit his finisher on Carnage and pin him to win the match.  ("Rugged Ralph was too much of a coward to enter the match, I guess.  Either that, or his eyes were glazed from staring into his newly-won MWF tag title too long.")

At the next MWF event, MWF In Your Face 10 : End of Days, Dr. Destruction granted Crash Test Dummy a MWF Hardcore title match against and pinned him within seconds following a singapore cane attack and a doctor-bomb.  Following the match, MWF President Dr. Destruction announced that reigning MWF World TV Champion SID had been institutionalized and that he was therefore stripped of the MWF World Television title, and that a 3-way dance would be held to determine a new champion.  The match would take place later on the card and would involve Destruction's Hard Corps partner Fiend, Double-7 Chris Simmons, & Sgt. Joe Black.  Dr. Destruction turned out to be anything but impartial as he pulled the referee out of the ring as Double-7 had executed his flying headbutt finisher on Sgt. Black.  As Double-7 turned his attention to Destruction, Fiend took the opportunity to execute his "backlash" finisher on Simmons and pinned him to become the new MWF TV Champion.  ("We needed a winner for that MWF TV title, not a whiner like Double-7").  Now each member of the Hard Corps holds MWF singles title gold.  Finally, in the main event of MWF IYF10, Dr. Destruction & partner Mountain of Love faced Carnage and a partner of his choosing.  With Carnage's former Flock partner Fiend defecting over to the Hard Corp's side, Carnage has been going it alone against the Hard Corps in his battles so far in the MWF - until this match as he enlists a true MWF icon - BONECRUSHER BOB - as his partner.  The Bonecrusher also had a bone to pick with Destruction and Mountain as 1 year ago he was robbed of becoming MWF World Champion when Destruction and Mountain joined forces to overcome his challenge.  With the Mountain's MWF World title on the line should he be the man pinned, Destruction tried to be in the ring as often as possible which allowed the team of the Bonecrusher and Carnage to overcome the Hard Corps as Carnage pinned Dr. Destruction with a superfly splash following a Bonecrusher flying elbowdrop.  Thus, each man scores a measure of revenge against their enemies as CARNAGE and BONECRUSHER BOB take the victory.  ("Your basic sports entertainment 'Retired guy returns for a 1-shot deal, so he gets to win' match.  I also took the brunt of their offense so Mountain of Love had no shot of losing the belt.")

The next MWF event, MWF Spring Fling 2000, saw a first in the MWF.  With opponents for Dr. Destruction few and far between, and the Hard Corps itself seeing little action, Dr. D defended the MWF Hardcore title in a 3-against-1 match against 3 of the Magees - Magpie, Pappy Toadstool, and Little Richard Magee.  Despite enduring a tremendous beating at the hands of the Magees, Dr. Destruction managed to persevere and pin & eliminate each man until he was the last man standing to defend the MWF Hardcore title.  ("The title shot was offered to Brett Krueger, but I believe he 'didn't think that was good idea'.  Probably for the best, since he would have tripped over himself and fallen on my bad knee and broke it."  Could you imagine ME losing the MWF Hardcore title to BRETT KRUEGER?!!?!?!")

With competition waning for the MWF Hardcore title, at MWF In Your Face 11 - Mission Impossible in May, Dr. Destruction called out a man who had heretofore been reluctant to wrestle him....Brett Krueger.  But instead of Krueger, it was Overkill and Carnage who accepted the challenge for Dr. Destruction's MWF Hardcore title making the match a 3-way dance.  ("I knew Brett wasn't in the arena, but the fact that I even mentioned his name probably did wonders for his career.")  After helping to eliminate Overkill early in the match with the help of Carnage, Dr. Destruction managed to get Carnage to the point of defeating him following a doctor-bomb.  However, when Dr. D went outside the ring to obtain a metal ladder to add to Carnage's suffering, Overkill returned to ringside after being eliminated, and actually SPEARED Dr. D thru the ladder (which was propped up against the ring apron) severely injuring him.  Carnage capitalized and superfly splashed Dr. D and pinned him outside the ring to win the MWF Hardcore title.  ("Never got a chance to avenge myself against that NEWA reject.  Lucky for HIM.")

Dr. Destruction suffered a knee injury at the hands of Overkill's spear thru the ladder, thus was put out of action until August when he returned at MWF BattleBowl 2000.  Coincidentally, BattleBowl's Champion this year would also determine the new MWF Hardcore Champion as that title had been vacated during Destruction's absence as Carnage defeated Bobo Bravado in a #1 contender's match to win the MWF World title thereby vacating the MWF Hardcore belt that Carnage had won from Destruction.  Dr. Destruction teamed with MWF newcomer The Jock in the random tag team portion of MWF BattleBowl 2000 and defeated the team of Choppah Harley & 2Pac Notsure to advance to the BattleBowl Royal Rumble whose winner would become the new MWF Hardcore Champion.  During the match, however, as a recognized threat to any would-be title holder, Destruction was the recipient of double, triple, 4,5, and 6 way teaming and it was in fact Carnage - the man who defeated Destruction for the MWF Hardcore belt - who finally eliminated Dr. D from the match who had competed in the event for the sheer pleasure of it (since the Battle Royal was for the title he had vacated).  ("Where were all these so-called challengers when Dr. D was the champ?  Never mind.  I already know the answer.")

In an attempt for revenge, Dr. Destruction sought a shot at MWF World Champion Carnage at the next MWF event, MWF In Your Face 12 : Armed & Dangerous in a 3-way dance for the belt along with Double-7 Chris Simmons.  Despite making a good showing in his first MWF title match since his return, Dr. Destruction executed a fall-away slam on Double-7 off the top rope, but was immediately attacked and eventually pinned and eliminated by Carnage following an asai moonsault off the second rope allowing Carnage to go on and successfully defend the MWF title.  ("My knee was still bothering me, so how I wrestled this match with no problems, I'll never know!")

At MWF Autumn Onslaught 2000, Dr. Destruction returned and called out Carnage with the intention of ending his career as Carnage had ended the career of the Menace and nearly ended Fiend's career earlier this summer.  Dr. Destruction mocked Carnage by allowing him to strike him with his own singapore cane and a steel chair.  Dr. Destruction was finally put down by  a Carnage rock-bottom onto a ladder and superfly splash, but somehow battled on and nearly had Carnage beaten down following one of his signature flying elbowsmashes.  Dr. Destruction then sought to break the back of Carnage by applying a full nelson/camel clutch on him attempting to end his career but the Black Widow entered the ring and threw steaming hot coffee in Dr. Destruction's face.  Forgetting about Carnage, Dr. Destruction chased the Black Widow outside the ring, but this allowed Carnage to recover, then blindside Dr. D and hit Fiend's backlash finisher on Dr. Destruction outside the ring.  Carnage then bridged a steel ladder between the ring apron and the announcer's table, lied Dr. Destruction on it and superfly splashed him thru the ladder.  Seeing as how the impact had hurt the left leg of Dr. Destruction, Carnage used Dr. D's singapore cane and repeatedly smashed his knee.  As a result, Dr. Destruction suffered a torn ACL and would require surgery putting him out of action for the remainder of 2000.

But Dr. Destruction's knee rehabilitation is going WELL....................................

2001

Dr. Destruction returned to action in the MWF Invitational Battle Royal at MWF New Year's Evil on January 13, 2001.  Attempted to form an alliance with old Hard Corps partner Bobo Bravado but Bravado welcomed no such reunion and turned on the Doc eliminating him from the battle royal.  ("After my absence from the MWF mat wars, I wanted to find out if there was anybody left in the MWF I could trust.  Bobo gave me my answer.")  During the Fiend-Carnage MWF World title match on the event, Dr. Destruction ALSO made an impact as Carnage was set to deliver his maximum carnage springboard missile dropkick on Fiend, Dr. Destruction appeared and gave Carnage a singapore cane shot to the back as Carnage was in mid-leap. After a brief exchange, Fiend pinned Carnage after spearing him thru a table to become the N-E-W MWF World Champion.  ("Carnage wrote me off for dead, but he was just reminded about how hard it is to get rid of me.  I just don't die.  People seemed surprised at my inclusion on MWF New Year's Evil....since my injury should have kept me out 9 months, not 3........but since I am as tough as any 3 MWF superstars put together, they should have realized that I would heal 3 times as fast.")

Dr. Destruction made an apparently unscheduled appearance at MWF Spring Fling 2001 and called out the man he helped cost the MWF World title at MWF New Year's Evil - Carnage.  Dr. Destruction goaded Carnage into signing a contract to wrestle him right then.  Carnage signed the contract, but Dr. D revealed that what Carnage had actually signed was a DUELING SINGAPORE CANE match and the special guest referee was Destruction's former Hard Corps partner and longtime Carnage rival Mountain of Love.  But when MOL appeared and signalled the bell to start the match, BOTH Carnage and Dr. Destruction attacked the MOL with the singapore canes and severely injured him.  Destruction claimed that all Carnage did was hurt the doctor's body...but it was the Mountain who stabbed him in the back by abandoning the Hard Corps faction and only called him to be his mystery partner when he needed him.   ("I stood side-by-side with the Mountain of Love when we were together in the Hard Corps and I saved his MWF world title MANY times when that shmuck would have lost it to cretins.  But when I was out temporarily with my knee injury, he TOTALLY FORGOT about me.  Of the other Hard Corps members - only HE was the one I felt most betrayed by since I hand-picked him to be my right hand man in the Hard Corps.  But he only needed me to help him out when Carnage started breathing down his neck.  But he didn't realize I had PLANNED for MONTHS for that to happen.  I cost Carnage his belt but made him believe it was only so we could unite and punk out the Mountain.  Which we did LIVE in front of the world.  Only the Mountain of Love's crippling will appease me.")  In the main event of Spring Fling, Destruction & Carnage defeated Mountain of Love and Bobo Bravado in a tag team match as their feud with the MOL had just begun.

MWF U.S. Champion Mr. Black successfully defended the MWF U.S. title by pinning MWF Commissioner Fiend in a Falls-Count-Anywhere match following interference from UltraViolent Carnage & Dr. Destruction.

After Fiend had executed his whiplash fireman-carry bomb on Black and went for the cover, Fiend foiled a Dr. Destruction interference attempt and backlash-ed him onto a steel chair but fell prey to a Carnage chairshot to the back.  Carnage then laid the chair in front of Fiend's face and executed his maximum carnage van terminator dropkick.  Mr. Black then placed his foot on Fiend's head, and Carnage & Destruction put their feet on Fiend's chest and ordered the referee to make the 3-count.  Mr. Black took off his t-shirt and revealed an UltraViolent t-shirt underneath.  Mountain of Love, Ares, and Cyclone ran in and chased UV out of the ring.

MWF World Champion Double-7 Chris Simmons appeared in the ring to start off the show, and called out his world title challenger Mr. Joe Black.  As the two men exchanged words (including a new word coined by D7 and added to the English language - misgenerates), Joe Black called down his UltraViolent partner Dr. Destruction.  Before Destruction got to the ring, Double-7 attacked Joe Black and had him down on the mat.  When Destruction entered the ring, he stopped Double-7 from beating Joe down for a moment, then he himself blasted Black with his twin singapore canes - turning on Joe Black!  With Double-7 and Destruction now aligned, they both beat down Black.  Destruction doctor-bombed Black and Double-7 nailed his seven-star frogsplash.  Double-7 then gloated over Black telling him his UltraViolent membership had been revoked revealing his own UV t-shirt.  Black was visibly bleeding from the mouth after the frogsplash, and as a precaution was stretchered out of the arena by MWF referees.  Following the attack, Dr. Destruction called down his scheduled opponent - Ares and defeated him in a Singpaore Cane deathmatch.
