Greatest Match: 3/21/99 vs. Dr. Destruction. Immediately following his loss of the MWF U.S. title at MWF Saturday Slugfest 1999 premiere TV taping, the Mountain of Love was granted a MWF World title shot by the reigning champion, Dr. Destruction for later that same day.  The Mountain of Love made the most of this opportunity in this ladder match. After a back-and-forth match, finally edged out Destruction and applied a running Death-Valley Driver for the victory and the MWF World title.  Following the match, Mountain of Love joined Destruction and Rugged Ralph to form the Hard Corps.

Favorite Match: 10/31/98 vs. Double-7 Chris Simmons. After being beaten for the U.S. title by Double-7 at BattleBowl 1997, refocused his efforts on regaining the belt in an all-out assault at Season's Beatings 1998. Finally, after a seesaw match-up, cleanly pinned Simmons with a DVD from the top rope to defeat him and win back the MWF U.S. title.

Toughest Opponent: Dr. Destruction. Was challenged by Dr. Destruction when Mountain had just turned to the New World Alliance and was the reigning U.S. Champion in early 1998. The first match between the two ended with Mountain of Love applying the DVD on Destruction onto a metal ladder injuring the Doc's neck. Destruction sought revenge, however, and following Destruction's winning the MWF title, engaged in violent matches against him in an attempt to take the belt including a Stretcher match that saw Mountain receive a fractured nose at Destruction's hands. Destruction was able to hold on to the title until finally, after a hard-fought feud, was granted another opportunity following the loss of his U.S. title and managed to wrest the title from Destruction on the inaugural Saturday Slugfest event of 1999, then joined Destruction and Rugged Ralph to form the Hard Corps.

Most Hated Opponent: Dr. Destruction. Took exception to Destruction's labeling Mountain of Love a sell-out for joining the NWA, and began a bitter feud with the Doc in early 1998. Their feud culminated at Wrestlemania 1998 in a violent stretcher match. Though dominating Destruction for the majority of the contest, suffered the indignity of being stetchered out of the match and again denied the opportunity to become MWF World Champion.
Favorite Manuever: "Death Valley Driver". Mountain of Love lifts an opponent into the classic fireman's carry position, but falls to his side driving the opponent's head into the canvas. The Mountain first began using this manuever at King of the Ring in 1997 against Double-7 Chris Simmons and has used it as his finisher ever since. When he hits it, it is literally lights out for an opponent.

Scouting Report

==Strengths==
: Physique. Works out religiously in the gym and it shows. Not only that, this has given the Mountain supreme cardio-vascular conditioning and he uses it to full effect against the other MWF athletes.
: Raw Power. Among the physically strongest competitors in the MWF. Incorporates a variety of power manuevers into his arsenal and has few equals.
: Submission Repertoire. A classic mat technician, the Mountain enjoys tying up opponents and clamping on extremely painful submission holds.

==Weaknesses==
: Easily Distracted By Fans. Was one of the most popular competitors in the MWF for years, but since his turn to the despised NWA in 1997, has difficulty reacting to the jeers of the fans. Loses concentration often in the midst of a match to jaw with fans in the crowd.
: Too Quick To Form Alliances. Has mainly joined other wrestlers generally at their behest. And, like the NWA, those motivations are nearly never in the Mountain's best interests.
: Trouble-Maker. Causes chaos wherever he goes. Attacks wrestlers and interferes in matches constantly with those he is feuding with. This has proven to be quite a detriment to his won-loss record.

Career Bio

Mountain of Love was originally billed as the Mountain of Molten Lust. He first entered the MWF at the 1990 King of the Ring tournament to crown the first MWF World Champion. Was the recipient of a bye in the first round of the tourney, defeated Super-Machine by submission to a torture-rack in the second round, but was defeated via countout by Brother Perfect (Fiend) in the semi-finals. Despite his elimination, allied himself with the man who had defeated him, Brother Perfect to aid Perfect in his match against Bobo Bravo which would decide the first MWF World Champion. Despite Mountain's nearly helping Perfect win the belt, Bravo was able to overcome the odds and defeat Perfect for the title. Formed a tag-team with Perfect and entered into an infamous feud with Buford T. Justice. Buford T. Justice was employed at the time by the Baked Warrior, the then-MWF U.S. Champion, thus at WrestleMania 1990, Mountain teamed with Perfect against the tandem of Baked Warrior and Justice. Contested under Texas Tornado rules, meaning that all competitors were battling each other simultaneously, the match ended when the behemoth Buford T. Justice administered several big splashes to the Mountain causing him to be pinned to lose the match. Faced Justice later on in the card in a 1-on-1 match and obtained a disqualification victory over him. Gained a measure of revenge later on in the card by defeating Buford's associate, the unpredictable Bonecrusher Bob in a Lumberjack match. Battled Buford T. Justice at house shows for some time with no clear winner ever being decided. Retired from the sport around this time to devote more time to other interests.

1997

Was a honored guest of the MWF at Summer Showdown 1997 which took place in the Mountain's hometown of Middletown, RI. Was a commentator for the match which happened to involve old enemy Buford T. Justice against Prince Rocky Iaukea. The mammoth Buford defeated Iaukea with ease, but called out the Mountain of Molten Lust and challenged him for the next card. Recalling the hatred the 2 individuals had for each other, the Mountain accepted the challenge and came out of retirement to face Justice one more time at Independence Day 1997. Once again, however, the wily Justice became frustrated as he could not put away the Mountain, and used his billy club to prompt a disqualification. This did serve to revive the competitive juices of the Mountain, however, and he returned to the MWF full-time to aid in the MWF's battle against the invading New World Alliance group. Was matched against Double-7 Chris Simmons in the first round of the 1997 MWF King of the Ring spectacular. Defeated Double-7 by disqualification when Simmons was dq'ed for using his wrestling boot against the Mountain. Advanced to the second round to face the NWA's Rugged Ralph, the reigning U.S. champion. Pinned Ralph to the horror of the NWA to advance. Infuriated that Ralph had been defeated, the NWA contingent of Ralph, Brother Fiend, and Bobo Bravado attacked him unmercifully and left him laying after putting him thru a table. The Mountain rebounded from the beating, however, and defeated Bobo Bravado in the KOTR final to become the 1997 King of the Ring. Incensed again that the NWA had been beaten in such a fashion by Mountain of Lust, the NWA came down to interfere in the MWF World title match between Lust and the reigning MWF champ Mike Speedo. Speedo successfully pinned the Mountain with their aid. For pinning Rugged Ralph in the tourney, though, Mountain received a U.S. title shot against Ralph at the following card, MWF Wrestlemania 1997. After a hard-fought match, the Mountain reversed a suplex attempt and suplexed Rugged Ralph thru a ringside table, then rolled him into the ring for the 3-count and U.S. title. To the shock of MWF fans, however, Rugged Ralph congratulated the new champion after the match and proceeded to offer him membership in the New World Alliance. The Mountain shocked the world and joined the NWA putting on the black-and-white NWA t-shirt. With that, Rugged Ralph rechristened him the Mountain of Love, new NWA member and U.S. champion to close out 1997.

1998

The Mountain of Love was a fighting champion, and proved it by defending the U.S. title against NWA enemy Dr. Destruction on the first card of 1998, Spring Fling. Pinned Dr. Destruction after applying his finisher, the Death-Valley-Driver, onto a metal ladder that Destruction had brought into the ring. This manuever severely injured the neck of Dr. Destruction, who required a neck-brace afterwards. The 2 antagonists met briefly again during the 9-man Elimination Confrontation event which was to decide the new MWF World champion, a title forfeited by Mike Speedo in late 1997. Dr. Destruction proved too intent on gaining revenge on the Mountain, however, as the Mountain distracted Dr. D allowing the recently reinstated formerly-retired Brother Fiend the chance to eliminate him from the event. The Mountain, however, allowed himself to be put into Fiend's Fiendmission hold to get over the fact that Brother Fiend had been fighting on the side of the MWF to enable Fiend to get reinstated into the MWF for this match. The NWA's plans for takeover backfired however, as Mike Speedo defeated Bobo Bravado to take back the MWF World title he had forfeited. This seemed to be the final defeat the NWA was willing to tolerate at the hands of the MWF. At Lunatic Fringe, the Mountain of Love was a very busy man. He started out with his next successful U.S. title defense pinning the Phantom Shadow following a "Mangler" power-bomb. He later came down to ringside during the Dr. Destruction - Double-7 Chris Simmons match to attack Dr. Destruction who had vowed revenge against the Mountain for injuring his neck at Spring Fling. His presence, back-fired, however, as he mistakenly struck Double-7 with a steel chair meant for Destruction. In effect, he had created for himself another enemy in Simmons. Still later on that card, assisted Rugged Ralph in a post-match attack on Brett Krueger who had just been defeated by the MWF World champion Mike Speedo. Along, with Ralph and former Krueger F.U.C.K.T. member C.I.A., handed out a dastardly beating to the MWF's Franchise severely injuring him. At MWF In Your Face, Nowhere to Hide, the Mountain of Love teamed with NWA partner Brother Fiend to take on Dr. Destruction, and his tag-team partner Double-7 Chris Simmons. The MWF tag-partners got the upper hand as Destruction doctor-bombed Mountain of Love onto a steel chair and went for the cover. Double-7, however, turned on his own partner and leg-dropped a chair onto Destruction during the pin attempt and made the cover on Mountain himself for the pinfall victory. For pinning the champion in the tag match, Double-7 earned the right to challenge the Mountain for the U.S. title at BattleBowl 1998. Despite wrestling one of his finest matches, the Mountain did indeed drop the U.S. title to the young challenger as he became a victim of the dreaded Double-7 death-drop. Sought to take out his displeasure at losing the belt by wrestling a preliminary opponent Red Satan at Middletown Massacre 3. Throttled Red Satan for the majority of the match, but could not seem to put him away easily. Then, Mountain got the upper hand, and lifted the mask of Red Satan and apparently saw who it was. Shocked at his discovery, the Mountain became the recipient of a inverted Russian-legsweep and was pinned by the masked man, who promptly left the ringside area, his identity intact. Later on the card, accompanied Rugged Ralph to ringside in his match against Mike Speedo. Chased away from ringside Speedo's then-manager, the masked ZODIAC. Later during the match, ZODIAC appeared sans Mountain leading all to assume that somehow he had gotten the better of Mountain back in the dressing room area. However, with Rugged Ralph distracting the referee, "ZODIAC" entered the ring, gave Speedo the Death-Valley-Driver, and unmasked revealing himself to indeed be the Mountain of Love. A shocker-dropper bulldog from Rugged Ralph later, and Speedo had been defeated. Ralph and Mountain then proceeded to kick Speedo down and could have put him out of wrestling as they had Brett Krueger, but the masked Red Satan came down to ringside, tore off his mask, and revealed himself to be in fact Brett Krueger who cleared the ring of the NWA. Was to receive a MWF World title shot at the new MWF champion Dr. Destruction at Independence Day 1998, but Bobo Bravado had earlier taken out his scheduled opponent Mike Speedo and demanded his own title shot against Speedo's brother, Dr. D. Thus, the match with Dr. Destruction became a 3-way dance for the MWF World title involving BOTH the NWA's Bobo Bravado and Mountain of Love. Although initially dismayed that his match with Destruction was not 1-on-1, Mountain agreed and along with his fellow NWA-ite Bravado, brutally double-teamed Dr. Destruction in the 3-way Weapons match. Beating the champion unmercifully for several minutes, Mountain of Love held Destruction for Bravado to clothesline. Destruction ducked, however, and the clothesline struck the Mountain. Thinking the attack purposeful, the Mountain began to tear into Bravado as well. Finally, the Mountain of Love was eliminated thanks to a double-team spike-piledriver from both Destruction and Bravado and was pinned by Bobo. Enraged that Bobo had cost his chance at the match and the title, Mountain refused to leave ringside, and got the opportunity to DVD Bobo. Destruction followed this attack up with a flying elbow-smash from the top rope and Bobo was pinned ending the match. The Mountain left the ring in disgust, the NWA in complete upheaval. This was only compounded the following card at MWF In Your Face 2 - August Armageddon. Rugged Ralph, the NWA's founder had announced his retirement and prepared to square off against Bobo Bravado at the event in his last match, but Bobo no-showed, and Mountain stepped up to battle his former partner. Rugged Ralph, however, disrespected everything the NWA had done, and returned to his roots calling himself Rockin Rich, his first MWF incarnation. After a vicious encounter, the Rockin' one scored the pinfall defeating the Mountain of Love. Shaking off this defeat, accompanied old enemy, now NWA teammate B. T. Vengeance (formerly Buford T. Justice) in his bid against the MWF champion, Dr. Destruction. Illegally interfered thruout the match against Destruction giving Vengeance chances to rest. Finally, with Vengeance holding Dr. D, the Mountain of Love swung a metal cookie sheet to hit Destruction, but Destruction ducked, nailing Vengeance who was subsequently pinned by the champion causing even more dissention. Scrambling to salvage what was left of the NWA, Mountain teamed with Fiend along with B.T. Vengeance in a 6-man tag match against MWF World champion Dr. Destruction, Mike Speedo, and Franchise Brett Krueger. Finally, the NWA team managed to defeat the MWF team when B.T. Vengeance capitalized on a misplaced Krueger superkick to Destruction, who then side-slammed and pinned the champion. After the match, Brother Fiend and the Mountain of Love put the boots to Destruction, once again leaving him laying. Once again got a MWF title shot at Destruction at Summer Showdown, but again in a 3-way dance along with Brother Fiend. After Fiend was eliminated by Destruction, Mountain pulled out all the stops in an effort to secure the belt. Managed to successfully blind the champion with a fistful of white powder, but the unseeing Destruction lunged out to grab the Mountain and inadvertently grabbed the referee, doctor-bombed him, and covered him. Mountain took advantage, and gave Destruction the DVD. Went to cover him, but Destruction was saved by Double-7 Chris Simmons, who returned and leg-dropped a steel chair onto the Mountain to break up the pinfall attempt allowing Destruction to put the doctor-bomb on the Mountain, and pin him to end the match. For costing him the match, Mountain of Love came down prior to the scheduled Brett Krueger - Double-7 Chris Simmons match that was to take place at MWF In Your Face 3 : Revolution Calling. Viciously assaulted Double-7 injuring his ankle. During this time, Brett Krueger, who also happened to be in the ring, did nothing to prevent the attack. After assaulting Double-7, Mountain of Love left the ringside area with Brett Krueger. At MWF In Your Face IV : Heart of Darkness, accepted an offer by Brett Krueger to team with him to defeat former NWa partner Fiend and his protege Carnage. As for the Mountain himself, there were some receipts of his own he had to pay back. On that same card, once again interfered in the Dr. Destruction - Double-7 match this time costing Double-7 the chance to become MWF World Champion by beating Destruction and ensuring that his own title shot would be against Destruction at Wrestlemania. Mountain was successful, as Destruction capitalized on a Mountain DVD on Double-7 and pinned Simmons to defend the belt. At Wrestlemania, before his scheduled world title match against Destruction, came down to ringside during the Fiend-Brett Krueger match at the point where Fiend had locked Krueger into the rings of Fiend submission hold. Krueger was locked in tight with nowhere to go, but would not quit. Not wanting his ally to suffer a career-threatening injury due to his pride, threw in the towel for Krueger ending the match. For his own scheduled match, however, Dr. Destruction had a surprise of his own. The title match at Wrestlemania against the Mountain became a Stretcher match, the first in MWF history and the two longtime adversaries fought tooth and nail to settle their differences. The only way for the match to end was to have the 2 stretcher-bearers carry a man to the lockerroom area on the stretcher. Although having a number chances to defeat Destruction, including applying the DVD onto the champion, the Mountain succumbed to Dr. Destruction's bloodlust and actually pulled him off of the stretcher to administer further punishment. Dr. D took advantage of this, reversed another DVD attempt, and doctor-bombed the Mountain onto the stretcher leading to the Mountain's being stretchered out of the arena. Failing in his attempt to wrest the MWF title from Destruction, was given the opportunity to once again wrestle Double-7 Chris Simmons, the man who had originally beaten him for the U.S. title. This time, made the most of his chance at gaining a measure of revenge against Simmons, and pinned him with a DVD from the top rope to regain the U.S. belt to close out the 1998 season. With the U.S. title back in his possession, the Mountain had the chance to use this as leverage to secure another shot at the reigning MWF World Champion, Dr. Destruction.

1999

As 1999 began, the Mountain of Love was the reigning MWF United States Champion.  Before the start of the MWF season, the man that Mountain had been feuding with violently for the most part of 1998, and the man he had planned to once again pursue for the MWF World belt, Dr. Destruction, actually contacted HIM with a proposition presented to him by the retired Rugged Ralph.  Rugged Ralph, who had defeated the Mountain in his retirement match in 1998, was planning on an MWF return, and planned to revive the New World Alliance that the Mountain had been a part of.  This time, however, the new NWA group would be called the HARD CORPS and it would  consist of Rugged Ralph, Dr. Destruction, and the Mountain of Love himself.  Dr. Destruction explained to Mountain that he had been the only man in the MWF who deserved a return title shot at himself as the rest of the MWF superstars had not given him anywhere near the challenge of the Mountain.  With either Dr. Destruction or Mountain of Love holding the MWF World title, the new Hard Corps trio would again seek to dominate the MWF.  Destruction told Mountain that his current ally, Brett Krueger, was only there by his side to ride his coattails and that he should dump Krueger and join the Hard Corps.  Together, Dr. Destruction and Mountain of Love had been named the 1998 feud of the year, but this time, together, they could combine forces, dominate, and give the members of the MWF that truly deserved hardcore thrashings, such as Brett Krueger, their undivided attention.  Not giving Dr. Destruction a definite answer, Mountain of Love bided his time until the first MWF event of 1999.  Mountain of Love was interviewed by MWF President Fred Travalenee at the first MWF card of 1999, Saturday Slugfest 1.  During the interview, however, as Mountain of Love was complaining  that no man in the MWF lockerroom could take his MWF United States title away, the man known as Fiend made his way down to the ring with his Flock; Carnage, C.I.A., and DeathMask.  Travalenee sanctioned the match on the spot to be for the MWF U.S. title with "anything goes" rules.  With the match made, Fiend first sent his Flock after the Mountain.  Mountain managed to fend off the Flock by administering Death Valley Drivers to each man, but was caught in a Fiend northern lights bomb and pinned to lose the MWF U.S. title.  As Fiend and the Flock departed the ringside area with their new prize, MWF World Champion Dr. Destruction made his way out to ringside.  Saying how he was disgusted with the way Fiend had beaten Mountain, Dr. Destruction told the Mountain of Love to forget about the U.S. belt and offered Mountain of Love a shot at his MWF World title instead later on in the card, to which the Mountain agreed.  Later on, MWF World Champion Dr. Destruction was interviewed by President Fred Travalenee.  Destruction said that the reason he offered the Mountain the shot at the MWF belt was because no man in the MWF ever came as close to beating him as the Mountain, thus he would defend the belt against him later on the card.  Furthermore, Destruction started running down the MWF superstars claiming that none of them could beat him, when he was finally interrupted by the surprise appearance of the MWF legend, Bonecrusher Bob!  Bonecrusher Bob took exception to Destruction claiming that he could not defeat him since Destruction had never before achieved a victory over the Bonecrusher.  Thus, Bonecrusher Bob attacked Destruction and once again, President Travalenee santioned a title match on the spot for Destruction's belt.  Destruction and Bonecrusher fought all over MWF arena until finally, the Mountain of Love made his way to ringside with a metal trashcan lid.  Mountain of Love lobbed the trashcan lid over the head of Bonecrusher Bob enabling Dr. Destruction to catch it, which he then smashed over Bonecrusher Bob's head, then doctor-bombed him and pinned him to retain the belt that Mountain of Love would still wrestle for in the main event of Saturday Slugfest.  Finally, in the main event of Saturday Slugfest, Dr. Destruction was in fact pinned by Mountain of Love who managed to kick out of a Destruction doctor-bomb, then hit a running Death Valley Driver to win the MWF World title in a ladder match.  Following the match, the Mountain of Love's former tag team ally Brett Krueger appeared to congratulate his partner on winning the MWF World title, but was turned on by Mountain of Love who, along with Destruction, and their new HARD CORPS partner Rugged Ralph, stomped down Krueger until Fiend and his Flock saved him by chasing the Hard Corps away to close out the event.

With the Mountain of Love now the MWF World Champion, it appeared Dr. Destruction would take on the role of "enforcer" of the Hard Corps keeping the MWF World title belt away from any potential challengers.   Destruction and Rugged Ralph made their presence felt in the main event of MWF Spring Fling 1999 in the 3-way MWF title match that pitted Mountain of Love against the Flock's Carnage and Brett Krueger.  With Rugged Ralph distracting Brett Krueger, Dr. D hit Krueger from behind to take him out of the match.  Destruction then pulled the referee out of the ring before Carnage could pin the Mountain letting the Mountain recover and hit the Death Valley Driver on a near-unconscious Krueger to retain the MWF title.

Along with Dr. Destruction, took on the preliminary tag-team of Purple Justice & Purple Vengeance at Saturday Slugfest 2.  Quickly dispatched them and challenged any 3 MWF superstars to take on Destruction and Mountain in a 6-man match as without Rugged Ralph present, they would bring in the most hardcore partner they could find, a masked wrestler named Mr. Hardcore.  Lost the match to the tag-team of Brett Krueger, Carnage, and Double-7 Chris Simmons with Krueger getting the pin on Mountain of Love earning for himself as a bonus a MWF World title shot.

At BattleBowl 1999, Mountain's partner Dr. Destruction returned once again to interfere in the Mountain of Love - Brett Krueger MWF World title lumberjack match with lumberjacks hand-picked by Brett Krueger.  Having disguised himself as one of Krueger's hand-picked lumberjacks, the masked wrestler called Crash Test Dummy, Dr. Destruction interrupted a Brett Krueger cover of the Mountain.  Krueger drop-kicked the ersatz Destruction-Dummy out of the ring but was the victim of another attack : the Flock's Fiend had also disguised himself as Sycho Analyst Sid and executed his finisher - the Backlash - allowing Mountain of Love to cover Krueger to retain the MWF belt.

The Mountain of Love's next major MWF World title challenger for MWF Middletown Massacre became Carnage.  Since the Hard Corps had cost him the title at Spring Fling, Carnage demanded the match be a First Blood match.  Dr. Destruction did not believe that Carnage had proven himself to his satisfaction to face Mountain in a 1-on-1 match for the MWF title, therefore Destruction cited the fact that he had not received his own MWF World title rematch and made the match at 'Massacre a 3 way First Blood elimination match - once a competitor was busted open, that person would be eliminated from the match.  Destruction also vowed that he would show no favoritism for either Carnage nor his partner Mountain of Love.  From the opening moments of the match, it appeared as if Destruction would keep his word as he smashed a wooden crutch over the back of Mountain of Love and also went at it with Carnage.  However, when Carnage began to decisively take control of the match using his aerial manuevers to devastate both Hard Corps members, Destruction and Mountain then coordinated their efforts to eliminate Carnage.  After several minutes of double-teaming Carnage, Dr. Destruction held Carnage in place for Mountain to swing a steel chair at his head, but Carnage ducked and it was Destruction who was struck with the steel chair, busted open and eliminated from the match.  Destruction proved reluctant to leave once eliminated, however, as he remained to doctor-bomb Carnage thru a table from the second rope in an effort to help Mountain retain the belt.  Carnage's Flock partner Fiend, however, ALSO interfered in the match blasting Destruction with a chair, knocking out the referee and kicking a steel chair into the Mountain's skull forcing him to bleed.  Seeing the Mountain bleeding, Fiend left the ring.  Carnage followed up this attack with his superfly splash, but the referee was still unconscious.  Dr. Destruction then re-entered the match lacerating Carnage with a screw-driver finally causing him to bleed.  Destruction also washed any trace of blood away from the Mountain's forehead and when the referee revived, she saw Carnage bloodied and awarded the match to the Mountain of Love.

At Saturday Slugfest 4, the next challenger on the horizon for the Mountain of Love was longtime nemesis Double-7 Chris Simmons were he to be victorious in a #1 contender match against Dr. Destruction.  In one of the most violent encounters of the year, Double-7 was the victim of Dr. Destruction's top-rope elbow smash as Destruction had laid a chair across his face to add to the impact.  The force of the blow deeply lacerated the mouth of Double-7, but he valiantly continued the match.  Seeing his opponent bloodied, Dr. Destruction attempted to permanently end the career of Simmons.  He placed Simmons in a seated position on the top rope, then with steel chair in hand, he ran from the opposite corner with the intention of bashing him in the skull and making him fall off the top rope to perhaps certain doom, but Simmons managed to savate kick the chair into the head of Destruction which he followed up with his Double-7 deathdrop to win the match!  But MWF officials would not give Double-7 medical clearance to wrestle due to his facial injuries and was forced to bow out of the MWF title match against the Mountain of Love that day.  Instead of wrestling Double-7, Mountain of Love successfully defended the MWF belt against a preliminary opponent, Reverend Rodney Righteous.

The next key event to take place occurred at MWF In Your Face 5 : Ride the Lightning.  Mountain of Love & Dr. Destruction were signed to take on Fiend & Carnage in the MWF's first "Double Tables" match - the winning team would put both members of the opposing team thru tables.  After putting Carnage thru a table, the Flock rebounded putting both Destruction, then Mountain of Love thru tables to take the match.  Having defeated their arch-rivals, the Flock attacked Mountain of Love with Carnage superfly splashing the MOL in a token of victory over the MWF World Champion.  Also in this match, an event occurred that would have great influence on the future of the Hard Corps.  Dr. Destruction executed a side Russian legsweep on Fiend onto a metal ladder but as Fiend hit the ladder, the back of Destruction's head hit the mat causing internal bleeding.  Destruction was able to finish the match but was unaware of how badly he was actually hurt as he was experiencing only slight headaches.

With neither Mountain nor Destruction realizing the extent of Destruction's injuries, Mountain of Love wrestled the MWF's inaugural U.K.-only pay-per-view Water Under The Bridge event in the main event 6-man tag team match involving his partners Dr. Destruction & Rugged Ralph against the Flock - Fiend, Carnage, & DeathMask.  The match reached its conclusion with the Flock once again coming out on top after Rugged Ralph tried blinding Carnage with powder as he had done weeks earlier to Destruction, but Rugged Ralph instead accidentally blinded the Mountain of Love.   The MOL executed the Death Valley Driver on Rugged Ralph by accident, enabling the Flock to capitalize and score the victory by pinning Ralph.  Following the match, with Destruction dizzy outside the ring, Rugged Ralph finally turned on Mountain of Love and hit his finisher the Eradicator on MOL and left the ring abandoning the Hard Corps.

While Dr. Destruction was out of commission, the MWF held its Saturday Slugfest 5 event.  Rugged Ralph challenged the Mountain of Love to a 6-man tag team match where neither he nor Ralph would know who their partners were.  So enfuriated was the MOL following Ralph's turn against the Hard Corps, he put his MWF World title on the line in the bout should anyone on Ralph's team beat him.  This proved the Mountain's undoing as Rugged Ralph somehow knew in advance that he would be teamed with the Reds, and convinced them to aid his beating Mountain.  With the help of the Reds, specifically with each Red holding a leg of the Mountain from outside the ring, Rugged Ralph covered the Mountain and pinned him to become the NEW MWF World Champion.

Frustrated by Rugged Ralph and now on his own after the disbanding of the Hard Corps, Mountain of Love was next caught in the middle of a Carnage-Brett Krueger feud as he received a United States title match against Carnage at MWF Independence Day 1999.  The man who was defeated by Carnage for the U.S. title, Brett Krueger would serve as special referee, however.  With Krueger remaining mostly unbiased during the match, Carnage managed to defeat the Mountain with his superfly splash with Krueger fast-counting Mountain of Love ensuring that the U.S. title stayed around Carnage's waist to be on the line for their next encounter.

At the first MWF Portugal show, MWF In Your Face 6 : Los Punlados, the Portuguese Mountain of Love received a tremendous standing ovation by the Portugal crowd as he was victorious in defeating a MWF newcomer, Sergeant Joe Black.  The happiest the Mountain of Love had been since his loss of the title, he was inspired to once again reclaim the MWF World belt from Rugged Ralph.

At MWF Summer Showdown 1999, old foe Double-7 Chris Simmons managed to defeat the Mountain of Love in one of the featured bouts, but it was what happened in a later match that truly marked this event as the next phase in the Mountain's career.  A MWF U.S. title match was held - the champion Carnage defending his title against Bobo Bravado.  Late in the contest, Carnage had the upper hand as he drop-kicked Bravado off the ring apron to the floor.  With the referee attending to Bravado who claimed to have injured his leg as a result of that manuever, two men - one the Mountain of Love and the second a man wearing a black mask and wearing a Dr. Destruction t-shirt ran in to the ring and executed consecutive sit-down tombstone pile-drivers to Carnage nearly breaking his neck.   Following this heinous attack, both men left the ringside area allowing Bravado to easily cover Carnage and defeat him for the MWF U.S. title.  After the match, Carnage was stretchered out of MWF arena.  The seeds of conspiracy had now been sewn, with the Mountain of Love apparently playing a major role.

The following event, MWF In Your Face 7 : Wrestlers in the Mist, another  MWF United States title match was held, this time Double-7 Chris Simmons pinning Bobo Bravado to become the new MWF U.S. Champion.   Double-7's victory celebration was short-lived, however, as Mountain of Love, the masked man wearing a Dr. D t-shirt & Fiend all came down to the ring and attacked Double-7 hitting him with their finishing manuevers the Death Valley Driver, Doctor-Bomb, and Backlash respectively.  Then in a token of victory, Bobo Bravado hit his own finisher on Simmons, the jack-hammer, and all 4 men left the ring together.  Also at IYF 7, Fiend, the Masked Man and Mountain of Love all participated in a post-match attack on Mountain's opponent, Choppah Harley, who had been beaten by the Mountain.  The Masked Man executed yet another of Dr. Destruction's signature manuevers, a flying elbowsmash onto Harley from the top rope while Mountain of Love held Harley down with a chair covering his face.  Yet again, the motivation for this attack was still unknown.

At MWF In Your Face 8 : Countdown to Extinction, a 5-way elimination match was signed between MWF mid-card talent.  Shortly following the eliminations of 2 of the participants, Beach Blanket Bobby and Tupac Notsure, the 5-Way match was interrupted by Mountain of Love, the man wearing a Dr. Destruction t-shirt, & Fiend who attacked the 3 remaining competitors. Mountain of Love executed his Death Valley Driver on Professor Hishitzu and forced the referee to make a 3-count on him. The Masked Man executed a "doctor-bomb" Michinoku driver on Terminator and also received a 3-count from the referee. Fiend executed his "backlash" back suplex-sidewalk slam on Captain Condom for yet another 3-count to end the match.  Following the match, the masked man with the Dr. Destruction t-shirt took the microphone and announced that a new 'Hard Core' group of wrestlers was on its way to the MWF - the Innovator of Brutality MOUNTAIN OF LOVE, the new Franchise of the MWF FIEND, as well as himself, MR. D.

At MWF Superclash 1999, Mountain of Love was instrumental in allowing his team of himself, Fiend, and Sergeant Joe Black to emerge victorious in the event's main event 6-man tag team first blood elimination match.  Although eliminated by a Double-7 face-buster onto a steel chair, Mountain of Love returned and placed a steel chair on the head of Fiend just as Double-7 came down with a top-rope headbutt to eliminate him from the match allowing Fiend to win for their team.

Finally, in the main event tag team match of MWF In Your Face 9 : Eye of the Hurricane with the wrestler scoring the pinfall to receive an MWF World title shot against MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph at a future MWF event - Mountain of Love & Bobo Bravado defeated Carnage & Double-7 Chris Simmons when the Mountain of Love pinned Carnage following a death valley driver.  Thus the rematch was signed - the Mountain of Love to square off against the man who stole his belt, Rugged Ralph.

At MWF Wrestlemania, so hot for taking the MWF World title once again, Mountain teamed with Fiend in a warm-up match against Slick Caddy, Reverend Righteous, and Deathmask.  The two Hard Corps teammates annihilated their opponents, as Mountain of Love went on to face Rugged Ralph in the falls-count-anywhere main event to regain the MWF belt.  In a match that went from the ring to the MWF dressing room, to the end of Harbor View Court - Mountain of Love (w/ MWF President Dr. Destruction) pinned MWF World Champion Rugged Ralph with a Death Valley Driver on the ground to become the N-E-W MWF World Champion.

With the MWF World title now back in his possession and all fired up, babe, Mountain of Love took on Carnage and Double-7 Chris Simmons in a 3-way dance for the MWF belt at MWF Season's Beatings 1999.  The end came when Double-7 went for his flying headbutt off the top rope, Mountain of Love blocked it with a steel chair incapacitating Simmons, allowing Mountain to apply the death valley driver onto Carnage to win the match and defend the title.

On the final event of 1999, MWF Survivor Series, Bobo Bravado faced MWF World Champion Mountain of Love in the main event of MWF Survivor Series 1999 refereed by Hard Corps member and MWF President Dr. Destruction.  After a tooth-and-nail confrontation, Mountain came out of the match on top following a death valley driver, but all Hard Corps members celebrated afterwards displaying their MWF dominance to close out 1999.

2000

Mountain of Love started off 2000 the reigning MWF World Champion.  At the first card of 2000 - MWF Saturday Slugfest 7 - participated in the WAR GAMES main event of the card.  The match was a 6-man tag team match where partners were drawn at random to compete against opponents drawn at random.  By the luck of the draw, Mountain of Love was matched with his Hard Corps partner Dr. Destruction and Sergeant Joe Black against Double-7 Chris Simmons, Fiend, and Carnage.   The real story of the match, however, turned out to be the special referee, Rugged Ralph.  Rugged Ralph called the match fairly until Carnage got in his face several times during the match.  The end of the match came when Carnage became so enfuriated by Rugged Ralph's slow counts of his pinfall attempts, this allowed Black to hit his finisher the TKO on Carnage and pin him to win the match for his team.

In the main event of MWF IYF10, Mountain of Love & partner Dr. Destruction faced Carnage and a partner of his choosing.  With Carnage's former Flock partner Fiend defecting over to the Hard Corp's side, Carnage has been going it alone against the Hard Corps in his battles so far in the MWF - until this match as he enlists a true MWF icon - BONECRUSHER BOB - as his partner.  The Bonecrusher also had a bone to pick with Destruction and Mountain as 1 year ago he was robbed of becoming MWF World Champion when Destruction and Mountain joined forces to overcome his challenge.  With the Mountain's MWF World title on the line should he be the man pinned, Destruction tried to be in the ring as often as possible which allowed the team of the Bonecrusher and Carnage to overcome the Hard Corps as Carnage pinned Dr. Destruction with a superfly splash following a Bonecrusher flying elbowdrop.  Thus, each man scores a measure of revenge against their enemies as CARNAGE and BONECRUSHER BOB take the victory.

Mountain of Love scored a measure of revenge against Carnage at MWF Spring Fling 2000 by silencing his MWF title quest.  In the MAIN EVENT : Dog-Collar Chain Match : MWF World Champion Mountain of Love successfully defended the MWF World title by pinning Carnage with a guillotine leg-drop off the top rope putting Carnage thru a table.

At the next MWF event, MWF In Your Face 11 : Mission Impossible - May 20th, 2000 in the MWF World Champion Mountain of Love-Fiend match-up, while the referee was inadvertantly distracted by Fiend's valet the Black Widow, Carnage came down to the ring and smashed Fiend with a steel chair. As this was happening, Sergeant Joe Black smashed Mountain of Love with a steel chair and Mountain fell on top of Fiend as the referee turned around and counted the 1-2-3.  Following the pinfall, Mr. Black stole the Mountain's MWF World title belt.

On his way into MWF arena for MWF Superclash 2000 - June 3rd, 2000, MWF World Champion Mountain of Love was attacked by MWF U.S. Champion Sergeant Joe Black who smashed Mountain of Love from behind with a steel chair.  Black then hit a pile-driver on Mountain onto the steel chair severely injuring him.  The Mountain of Love was rushed to Newport Hospital as Black gloated.  However, the scheduled Mr. Black -Carnage MWF U.S. title match was interrupted by the surprise return to MWF arena of the MWF World Champion Mountain of Love.  Mountain of Love demanded to be part of the match so he could get his hands on Black to get revenge for the attack earlier on in the card.  Despite this set-back, in a 3-way dance for the MWF U.S. title, Black was able to successfully defend the MWF U.S. title when he pinned MWF World Champion Mountain of Love with 1 foot on his chest after Mountain of Love had been injured back suplexing Carnage from the top rope thru a table.  Following the match, Black mocked the Mountain and took both his MWF U.S. title and the Mountain's MWF World title and eagerly awaits facing the MOL when he finally gets the MWF World title shot.

Before the start of MWF Independence Day 2000 - June 19, 2000, Mr. Black (still in possession of Mountain's MWF title belt that he stole from him) cut a promo claiming MWF World Champion Mountain of Love was a paper champion and compared him to a weak WWF champion as he produced a store-bought WWF belt from a bag.  Black said that he would pick a dream partner and face Mountain of Love and a dream partner of his choice in the tag team main event of MWF Independence Day 2000.  But Black's plan backfired on him as, MWF World Champion Mountain of Love & Fiend defeated MWF U.S. Champion Sergeant Joe Black & Rugged Ralph when Mountain of Love pinned Joe Black with the death valley driver.  Mountain of Love then took back his MWF world title belt.

But the Mountain had not heard the last of his pesky challenger Mr. Black; before the start of MWF Middletown Massacre 2000, MWF World Champion Mountain of Love arrived at MWF arena but he was met in the MWF backstage area by the man who was scheduled to receive a MWF World title shot against him -ARES - Ares spin-kicked a steel chair into the Mountain's head.  Black, whose challenge the Mountain of Love had repulsed at the last MWF event ALSO appeared and aligned with Ares.  Together, they spike-piledrove the Mountain of Love onto a steel chair and Ares also DDT'ed Mountain onto the chair leaving him laying.  The new duo then made off with the Mountain of Love's luggage.  Mountain of Love was again rushed to the hospital and doctors advised him to take time off for a neck injury.

At MWF Summer Showdown 2000 - July 22, 2000, the men that had injured the Mountain - Ares and MWF U.S. Champion Sergeant Joe Black - appeared and cut a promo.  Both men bragged about injuring the MWF World Champion at the last MWF event.  However, MWF owner Joseph T. Joseph ordered that Black must defend the MWF U.S. title against none other than his ally ARES.  In a MWF U.S. title match, Ares pinned MWF U.S. Champion Sergeant Joe Black with Black's own finisher - Police Brutality (swinging fireman's carry into a stunner) to become the N-E-W MWF United States Champion.  Although Black & Ares were successful at putting out the Mountain of Love, Black & Ares alliance was shattered when Ares defeated Black for Black's precious MWF U.S. title.  Mountain of Love then appeared at the event with Joseph T. Joseph and surrendered the MWF world title due to injury sustained from Ares' and Black's attack.   CARNAGE became the new MWF Champion when he defeated Bobo Bravado in a #1 contender's match.

Before the start of MWF Battle Bowl 2000 - August 5, 2000, Ares attacked Mr. Black and officially ended their allaince - Ares may have injured him permanently but Black was saved by none other than the man whom he had despised - the Mountain of Love himself as he appeared and drove off Ares.  Mountain of Love now took Sergeant Joe Black under his wing and transformed him in MR. BLACK.  MWF BattleBowl became the event to decide a new MWF Hardcore Champion as that belt was vacated when MWF Hardcore Champion Carnage won the MWF World title at Showdown.  Mr. Black (w/ former MWF World Champion Mountain of Love) & Disco Nights defeated Grand Theft Auto  & White Snake when Sergeant Joe Black pinned GTA following the Black Attack - a reverse sit-down stunner - his brand new finishing move.  Before the BattleBowl battle royal, however, Mountain of Love ordered Black not to participate as Black had sustained an injury at the hands of Ares, and the Mountain explained there would be another day for Mr. Black's title aspirations.

Mr. Black agreed to follow the MOL's instructions to the letter, as he believed he was doing things the wrong way in the MWF.  Thus at MWF In Your Face 12 : Armed & Dangerous - August 19, 2000, Mr. Black (formerly Sgt. Joe Black, w/ new MWF U.S. Champion Mountain of Love & Trinity) pinned Blanta with the Black Attack - inverted stunner.  Following the match, Mountain of Love reprimanded his charge Black for not performing 100% up to standards, and attacked him with a series of death valley drivers before carrying him back to the dressing room.  Also, in a MWF U.S. Title Match, Mountain of Love (returning from being sidelined by Ares) gained ultimate revenge on Ares as he pinned MWF U.S. Champion Ares (w/ Ted Alphonso) following a death valley driver to become the new MWF United States Champion avenging himself and Mr. Black.

At MWF In Your Face 13 : Breaking the Chains - August 26, 2000, Mountain of Love teamed with Andre Agony and defeated White Snake & Double-7 Chris Simmons when Mountain of Love pinned White Snake with a guillotine legdrop off the top rope proving to all that he was back in full fighting form following his injury.

At MWF Wrestle-Mania 2000 - September 9, 2000, it was now time for Mr. Black to go for a MWF title - none other than the MWF U.S. title now in possession of Black's mentor Mountain of Love.  In a Teacher-vs-Student match, MWF United States Champion Mountain of Love successfully defended the MWF U.S. title by pinning Mr. Black following a death valley driver.  But following the match, Mountain of Love raised the hand of Mr. Black after wrestling perhaps the greatest match of Black's career to date.  The two allies then left the ring together.

Finally, the Mountain got the opportunity to wrestle for the title he never lost - the MWF World title.  MOL was injured and stripped of the belt, but never lost the MWF World title in the ring.  Carnage defeated Bobo Bravado in a #1 contender's match but had never pinned the MOL's shoulders to the mat.  Despite a fantastic showing by the MOL, ultimately lost to MWF World Champion Carnage (w/ Black Widow)  as he successfully defended the MWF World title against MWF United States Champion Mountain of Love by pinning him folllowing a moonsault.

In the MAIN EVENT of MWF Lunatic Fringe- October 21, 2000, the duo of MOL & Black continued their winning ways as MWF United States Champion Mountain of Love & Mr. Black defeated MWF World Champion Carnage  & Bobo Bravado when Mr. Black pinned Carnage following a Mountain of Love mangler piledriver off the top rope.

At MWF Harborview Havoc - November 4, 2000, Mountain of Love seconded his protege Mr. Black as he faced an old foe - Rugged Ralph.  Black pinned Rugged Ralph with the black attack inverted stunner following a death valley driver from Black's mentor Mountain of Love.  The MOL was not quite as fortunate as in the MAIN EVENT : Unsanctioned Lights Out Lumberjacks with Straps match - Bobo Bravado took out months of frustration and pinned MWF U.S. Champion Mountain of Love with a jackhammer suplex-powerslam.  Since the match was unsanctioned, however, the MOL remains the MWF U.S. Champion to close out 2000.

2001

Finally, at MWF New Year's Evil - Mountain of Love decided it was time for Mr. Black's final test - the final exam for Mr. Black.  In a Teacher vs. Student match, in front of his hometown fans, Roger's High School's own Mr. Black pinned MWF United States Champion Mountain of Love after the blackout biel-bomb off the second rope thru a table to capture the MWF U.S. title, defeating his mentor Mountain of Love.
